A couple of the other guy's lists had Pena at 10.

He got most of his 2B list right but #10 is Wong.

Could we convince Crane to make staff hiring decisions for Texas A&M as well? The guy has proven that he can consistently make great hires

I think the Yanks have the same ceiling as last year … ALCS. Rotation will be good but probably intermittently hampered by injury. Lineup has a bunch of aging, inconsistent home run swingers, Rizzo, and Judge. They'll be perfectly good but not great.

espn ranks us 4th best lineup, after SD, StL, ATL

1. Jose Altuve (2B, R)
2. Michael Brantley (DH, L)
3. Alex Bregman (3B, R)
4. Yordan Alvarez (LF, L)
5. Jose Abreu (1B, R)
6. Kyle Tucker (RF, L)
7. Jeremy Pena (SS, R)
8. Chas McCormick (CF, R)
9. Martin Maldonado (C, R)
Park-neutral runs: 819
Best traits: patience, contact, strike-zone command, long ball | Worst traits: BABIP, speed

It's going to fun to watch him this season. His post season should give him tons of confidence that he can hit good pitching.

It's the stuff you mentioned I'm excited to see -- can he cut his K's and increase his walks.

I'm also expecting 25-28 HR from him this year.

How do y'all feel our farm system is doing? Last I saw in August 2022 we were still ranked near the bottom. Obvious reasons for that such as 4 lost draft picks, having consistently lower spots in the draft due to our success and the trades we make to go for it each year.

I guess it has been 3.5 years since the Greinke trade and Cole and Verlander blockbusters were before that. The trades we have made since then have not been devastating to our system, or maybe I underestimate those moves. Just thinking we should be middle of the pack by now if our player analysis has been good.

Is this a case of our system being undervalued and we make good players out of guys that don't look great on paper early on or have the trades and lost draft picks just been too much to overcome?

Looking through that list it struck me that they project the A's starting lineup to have 3 former Astros batting in their top 4 (Tony Kemp, Aledmys Diaz, and Ramon Laureano). It's projected as the 30th best lineup, but they'll probably do some damage against their erstwhile team as usual.

It's hard to have too many hard feelings after wining 4 pennants and 2 WS in 6 years, but not winning the WS in 2019 still really hurts.

I don't know what point it was in that season but talk about a throwback to the days when bats were hotter than a $2 pistol. All but the 9-hole hitting over .300, a couple over .400, and even over .500.

That's absurd.

BRB finding a brick wall to run through

Bregman on-deck tossing his bat in the air on Yordan's nuke is awesome. Can't believe I never caught that before.

Lol not surprised he deleted it. I saw his post and immediately thought he was kidding. Since he deleted it, now I just think he's an idiot.

40 seconds mark, Bregman fielding a ball followed by Chas running...look how their bodies are active while their heads barely move...that is a talent and I 100% believe it is something you can see in advance athletes that others don't possess

reminds me of a video of an aggie WR a few years ago where he's running to make a catch and his head never moves

Wait… you know that's edited to look like that, right? They lock the frame on the face.

I'm not saying that professional athletes don't have elite body control. Of course they do. But not like that.

ikwym, but, if you were to tell any astros fan in 2013 that they'd play in 6 alcs, win 4 pennants, and 2 titles in the next 10 years, they'd be over the moon. and 6 players on that 111 loss 2013 team won a ring for the astros

going back to the 1987 Seton Hall baseball team...

they made the NCAA tournament and were assigned to the South regional in Huntsville, Alabama as the #4 seed.

Seton Hall won its first game vs. the 3-seed Auburn.

but then lost to the 2-seed Clemson and were eliminated in the rematch vs. Auburn.

the 1-seed Arkansas won the regional and went to the CWS
