My high level guess is that 6 fewer games against us is positive, but the 18 remaining games moved out-of-division roughly offset that... making the new schedule a bit more neutral for them.W said:
that's interesting point...
what is the impact of the reduced division schedule (76 games to 52) on the Angels, Mariners, and Rangers?
is that better for them or worse

For me the AL team with the biggest ?? from the new schedule will be Cleveland. That's a bunch of games against bad inter division teams that they can't play and win.
That division is likely only getting the division winner in. All 3 of the contenders (guardians, twins, Sox) will all get a stiffer challenge.

Aroldis Chapman is signing with the Royals, per source.

Pedro León had sports hernia surgery on Tuesday, according to the Astros. He is expected to miss "approximately six to eight weeks."

Kind of worse. Bauer finds women to beat on who want to be beat. Chapman just beats them.

Did this just happen, or did he wait until mid-January to have the surgery? It always drives me nuts when players postpone a procedure until it cuts into the season. Veteran football players seem to do it more than others, maybe just to avoid camp. Not saying Diaz did this... just reminded me of a pet peeve. Carry on!

My favorite all-time stat about the Cubs is that in 1962, the expansion Colt 45s went 64-96 with a roster full of rookies and past-their-prime rentals.Farmer1906 said:
A tale of two teams
The Chicago Cubs lost 464 games from 2010-14. They tanked and built up a core of home-grown players in Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, & Willson Contreras. They made the playoffs 5/6 years from 2015-2020, made 3 CS, and 1 WS. None of that core is on the roster any longer. The next wave never came. The Cubbies have lost 179 games over the last 2 seasons and in full rebuild mode.
The Houston Astros lost 502 games from 2010-14. They tanked and built up a core of home-grown players in Jose Altuve, George Springer, Carlos Correa, & Alex Bregman. They made the playoffs 7/8 years from 2015-2022, made 6 CS, and 2 WS. 50% of the core remains and the next wave of Alvarez, Tucker, Framber, Javier, and more are here. The Astros have won 201 games over the last 2 seasons and the window is wide ass open.
Can we all take a moment and step back and admire the fact we've made the Yankees our ***** 8 years running now in the playoffs. We truly are living in the best timeline.Mathguy64 said:Keeper of The Spirits said:

Does anyone remember what the length of that Pujols bomb was? I wonder how it compared to Yordon's in game 6.J Peterman said:
Like Brad Lidge after Pujols. When he went to a new team, new scenery Lidge was filthy again. Maybe will help Chapman

Weird question of the day.
How many of you young'uns know what "hit it on the screws" refers to?
No fair googling.
Double score for those old enough to actually hit one on the screws.
