There is absolutely nothing else I need to see from Javier. He is an Ace long term. He's probably the best pitcher on this roster.
I can see it, but the price might really skyrocket. He got you 155+ with the postseason. And he did it with 6 non starts mixed in. Turn those 6 games into 3 starts and he probably cracks 170.
What makes Javier so good is his "invisiball" and I don't think that's going away and it works at even relatively low velocity (93-95 mph) so it's not like a power pitcher who might lose velocity as he ages.
He's a very unique pitcher and I have no problem locking him up long-term.

Oh yeah, and Alvarez without shift (he doesn't hit into as many shallow RF groundouts as Tucker but I bet he's top 10).

So the count was 2-2 on this play. It's an out as a foul tip that's caught. But I wonder. If that's 2-1 would they have considered that a caught foul pop up? I mean it got above head height.
I think there's actually a definition in the rulebook for it. A foul tip is sharp and directly into the catcher's mitt. A pop up is anything else that has a clear arc to it.

Drunk and Crazy! Hunter Brown - he may be the ace of the staff by the end of the year! Ok, that statements drips of hyperbole, but still, he has so much upside. Then you get the IF statements. IF Framber backs up his 2022 year with another equally good year. IF Lance stays healthy. IF Javier develops into a consistent starter. I was hoping he would be one of the guys retiring, but then I read the headline and it said the guys retiring were well respected, so I knew he couldn't be one of them.
