I think it's safe to say he played this pretty damn well and got what he wanted.
Twins made a decent try for Correa, offering close to $285M fir 10 years. Twins will consider Dansby Swanson now.

The bigger question now for Boras is what in Gods name is Juan Soto's contract gonna look like soon?

Give Pena the same contract...BadAggie said:
Get the ****ing extension offer to Peña now.
not sure what the math comes out to be *exactly* because of how the road games work and I’m lazy but just eyeballing, I think a Cubs offer of like $320 million ends up being worth more than Giants’ $350 million after taxes

don't like the chances of re-signing Bregman --- he's going to want 10 years $300 MM as a minimum
The years on some of these deals are outrageous, but you have to think of it as they allow the AAV to be lower and if the player sucks when they’re 40+ years old, it won’t matter. 13 years from now, we’ll probably look at $27M a year the way we look at $9M a year today.

Dansby Swanson looks to be in excellent shape coming off his breakout season. Cubs are in on him, and at least the Dodgers, Twins, Red Sox look like potential options. Probably others, too. Terrific snd clutch player.

Correa was never going back to Minnesota. He's a me player and just used them for a year to get a better deal.
But it started like 35 years ago..Buck Compton said:
I know inflation is a real thing with these salaries… but damn.
Biggio had career earnings of like $80 million. A hall of famer. Now you have Correa getting $400+ in a career. There are guys making half of Biggio's career in a year. And his career only ended 15 years ago.
but what happens when some of these players wear out their welcome and start struggling in year 3 or 4 of their mega-dealsbearkatag15 said:The years on some of these deals are outrageous, but you have to think of it as they allow the AAV to be lower and if the player sucks when they’re 40+ years old, it won’t matter. 13 years from now, we’ll probably look at $27M a year the way we look at $9M a year today.
