Today's topic - give your realistic finish to the offseason/roster.
I'll go trade for Varsho & sign Brantley. Maybe add one more pitcher. I can't decide between lefty reliever or vet inning eater.

Maybe Conforto will still happen, a one year prove it deal. Presumably he's looking for an everyday role. Astros have continued to be linked to him.

For catcher, basic problem is you want an elite catcher who is fine being a backup. There's a few free agent vets, I guess the Astros will sign a standard non exciting name for a year.
Pitching staff is alright, getting Montero locked up early was a good move. Maybe Stros look at adding a starter with JV's departure? But who?

Definitely worth having the MLB audio season pass or whatever, listen to those guys often during the season.

Sean Murphy makes sense but you would have to overpay a team in your division. He's Oakland's main trade chip at the moment so they're looking for a haul in return.
The upshot is he's a proven gold glove C and productive bat at 28 years old with 3 more years under control.
Could be wrong, don't see Astros overpaying the A's for him. Given that the ask is high Astros are now pivoting after losing out on Contreras to a vet backup and presumably will revisit the position next offseason.

Best bet at this point is Brantley heals and you have your LF and DH platoon with him and Yordan next season. A free agent like Benintendi is going to cost a lot more for the same general production next year. Well, trust Uncle Mike's bat more.
Addition of Abreu and a healthy Brantley is an offensive upgrade, with youthful injection of Leon, Diaz, and Hensley available.
