2023 I'm manifesting it

Aggie football wins 10 games and the Astros win another WS

Let's just go with both win it all and have the greatest sports season in fandom.

2021 was special for Georgia fans with the Braves.

2023 is the year for Aggie/Astros. National title game at NRG stadium too

I'd trade A&M getting the death penalty in football for a World Series three-peat.
This intrigues me. I'm sure not questioning your right, and the people who starred your post, to feel this way. But I'm curious. Do you just not like football, or do you not feel any special allegiance to A&M?

I'll admit, I would trade never winning another Meat Judging Championship for an Astros three-peat. But football?
This is what I don't get and also directed to cone...if you don't care about football and I'll say college football in particular, then I get it although it obviously diminishes the "sacrifice."

If you DO care about football, especially A&M football, I just don't understand how you would want to kill the entire program into perpetuity simply for two more rings in baseball. It seems short-sighted and stupid.

As the gif goes about A&M football and Astros success:

Back to Astros only talk. I saw this graphic and would love to know if they have a t-shirt with it as I would happily purchase one:

I grew up loving A&M football and was the sports editor of the batt for a couple of football seasons. Went to every home game and quite a few road games during my 4 years and paid top dollar to go to some late 90s / mid 2000s bowl games, all of which we got the **** kicked out of us in. I loved Manziel's year and the subsequent 2013 season, but ever since we lost that game to UCLA, I've just stopped giving a **** about Aggie football. We're no closer to being a perennial power and an annual competitor for the national championship picture than we were 50 years ago. I haven't watched a game wire to wire in years other than the Florida game a few weeks ago because I was at it. The inability to piece together a winning culture that is prevalent at so many schools that have fewer resources than A&M has turned me off of the program. On the weekend, I'm a lot more interested in my Fantasy Football team than Aggie football.

For me it goes

1A/1B/1C: Aggie football, Astros and Aggie baseball
2. Aggie basketball
3. Texans and Rockets

So since the Astros have won 2 WS already, next on my wishlist is an Aggie national title in one of the 3 big sports

No the Astros got smart and realized that their post 2005 window had closed and once Crane took over they were willing to commit to a plan with patience and vision. But MLB and college football are impossible to compare with one another and I don't want to cloud the discussion anymore with my opinion of A&M football. It was a throw-away statement to begin with.

college football is turning into the NFL

hard to get invested in the year to year when things can turn on such a dime based almost entirely on the QB

the previous understanding of dynasty building is dead as a doornail. there's no such thing.

Not Sumlin, just reoriented my life's priorities to stop living and dying via college football. All that stuff also happened while I was recuperating from getting run over by a truck, so putting aside things that caused me major anger issues was a real positive.

You guys who want the Astros to sign Bellinger have been one-upped on the premium board. Somebody started a thread advocating Tom Herman as the new OC.

How are y'all ridiculing that more than giving the Aggies the death penalty for 2 more WS wins? That is equally asinine. I love the Astros.

But the Aggies are family.

Astros and Aggie football are 1a and 1b for me. Texans used to be a close 2nd but have slipped for obvious reasons and im a fair weather basketball fan.
Give me one more WS title and I'd take a 5 year playoff drought for an Aggie Natty. It's been far too long!

I've been watching Astros baseball longer than I have been watching Aggie football and I've been watching Aggies play at Kyle for 40 years.

I have no expectation that I will ever see and football NC in my lifetime. And I have come to peace with that.

I have every expectation the Astros will be in the playoffs next year and play for a 3rd ring. It may not happen but I have an expectation for it.

I'm not sure why anyone would care more for a pro sports team than a team from their alma mater, but to each his own.

You absolutely nailed it.

I have no expectations for Aggie Football other than to be disappointed. If they win, great! If they lose, oh well. I learned long ago to not get so invested in Aggie Football. I'm much happier for it.

As for the Astros, they've been my team since 1980, when I was 3 years old. With the Astros, I expect them to be good.

As a teenager and college student in the 90s, I went to several Astros games each year. They were always competitive and interesting. Even when they were losing 100 games, you could see where they were headed. They had a plan.

The Aggies don't seem to have one. I don't know if they ever have, and with the current college football landscape, I'm not sure they ever will. As long as a poll system is in place that shows bias and favoritism, I don't see them winning a championship, and I'm ok with it.

aggie football is always going to be the weirdest team ever, last year we lost to Miss St and then beat Bama, this year we suck.....so hard, yet beat top ranked opponent at home, while not even qualifying for a bowl. I've just come to believe that no matter how close we get, we will screw it up, every. single. time.

but tbh, there was a time when I thought Astros baseball was the same, then they got an aggressive owner who wanted to win. Think this is a leadership thing with the Aggies. Wanting to win needs to come from the top, and to also make not stupid moves with coaches salary.
I live in waco....therefore, I am ready to move elsewhere.

I take most of these comments with a grain of salt. It's easy to say the Astros are your main team when they are currently a dynasty.

If the Aggies ever win a championship in football, I might be as shocked and happy as ever.

THIS. Memories of going to games at the Dome with my dad is one of the memories I will cherish forever. I love when the Aggies do well, but the Astros blood runs thicker than the Aggie does in me.

I think a lot of it also has to do with baseball season being twice a long, and daily compared to football which is once a week. Easier to become invested.

For some yes, but for others no.....Honestly I have great memories of going to games at MMP even when were sucking. I look back and find it enjoyable in regards to experience. Go eat at Ninfas, ride the shuttle over, buy a crappy outfield seat for cheap then go sit behind the dugout wherever you wanted and watch the game in peace since attendance was crap.

Yes, I enjoy winning more, but even though we sucked the game experience was still good imo.

As someone who has been outspoken about Yuli's PT and not bringing him back, I just want to put it on record, again, that I love La Pina. He has a special place in my baseball heart. I'll never understand how he could consistently get to some of those inside pitchers. His hair was as elite as they come. Good byes are hard.
