Look, I get it guys. There's much about CC's personality and the way he left that rubs us the wrong way.

Bottom line, he busted his ass for this organization, has been a big part of one of the greatest runs in club history and was the only one who came out as strong as he did defending Tuve.

Carlos is a lot of things, but he deserves a little more respect around here imho and it's not necessary for you guys to jump on him just because you're trying to get a laugh and some attention.

CC will always be an Astro and I wish him nothing but the best.

I think he is a d-head that is all about the money. I appreciate his contributions but don't give a rats ass what happens to him now.

So basically like every attorney, politician or judge I know. Gotcha man, you should probably focus on yourself and your life a little more.

Stop feeding the troll. Most of the people on this thread have stated they feel for the guy's bizarre situation and have a lot of respect to what he brought to the Astros.

Correa was an amazing Astro and almost dragged us single-handedly to the World Series in 2020. But when you choose to leave voluntarily, my philosophy changes to "you get what you get", especially if you turn down the offer for a really nice deal here.

I'm not actively rooting for any ex-Astro. What's going on now with Correa possibly returning to the Twins has all the vibes of the guy who ditches his girlfriend on his way to college, gets to campus, can't get laid and a few weeks later is hitting up the ex saying "Guess who's coming to town this weekend, I was so wrong about us!"

Am I the only person who didn't CC's real name is Carlos Javier Correa Oppenheimer Jr.?

I have no ill will against CC. He's an Astro legend and there's no reason to think otherwise.

Now Boras is a different situation.

I can agree with everything you wrote. Up to "CC will always be an Astro". I doubt if even he would agree with that. Soon he'll be trying his hardest to help some team keep the Astros from winning another World Series.

What is Correas crime again? Wanting as much money and security as possible for his family?

I ain't mad at him. Hopefully it works out…

He turned down 160 M when teams were willing to offer 350 M. How dare he!?!?

I don't blame him at all for leaving. I like my job, but if my employer offered me lower than market value to stay, no matter how much I like it, I'm going to get more money elsewhere.

Go get as much cash as you can, Carlos.

That's not quite fair. Or true. He turned that 5/160 down hoping for 350. He wanted what Lindor got. But so far no one is interested in giving him that.

I've never heard a story like that man. But sorry for what ya went through in college and sorry for not allowing you to have an opinion.

No one is interested based on something unexpected on his medicals. Clearly the giants offered him that. Crane didn't offer Correa less because of his medicals. He had Pena in the pipeline and an unwillingness to hand out mega deals.

part of what's happened to Correa...

is the Miguel Cabrera effect.

teams know that a player on a $30 MM per year contract is never going to retire before their contract ends...never. Even if he has been terrible for years and even if he needs a wheelchair to reach the batter's box.

if Correa's ankle gives out in year 5 or year 6 of the mega-deal...he's not going to hang 'em up. Will show up to spring training every year to keep cashing checks until the contract is complete

Amen. The hypocrites behind a keyboard are exhausting on Texags.

Please keep committing "adultery" and looking for the most amount of money your given field from your hidden spaces, it's exhausting.

A rumor I heard was that the reason this is all happening is because insurance won't cover a long contract with his ankle. If that's the case then I think it's more likely he won't be able to get that 10+ year contract he wants.

Well, since there's no clear line nowadays between actual journalism and click bait I guess just have to wait and see. One thing is clear, Cohen never intended to offer what he publicly offered and all had to do with putting media spotlight on his brand.

Listening to an podcast from back in July with LMJ. He said hi peaked in HS when he hit 101 on the gun in a matchup with Buxton. I had no idea he had that in him.

He also casually said he asked for the first game back in LA with fans. The club set up the rotation to make that happen.

The biggest takeaway for me is how he talks about the greats are different because they are consistent and still produce when they're at their worst. How Lance is trying to achieve that too. His example was JV getting in trouble in the first vs the Nats so he ramped up his velo/emptied the tank early to get out of it. He only went 5 that day but it was 5 shutout innings.

LMJ just may sneak up on us with everyone rightfully elevating Framber & Javier.

Lance was the man in 2021. If he's healthy and close to that same level in 2023 we won't miss JV at all.

I still worry about his longevity and durability. He has never had a season where he pitched start to end (opening day to end of playoffs) in his entire career. I get he's had some big moments, but he's been very unreliable as well.

Everyone is rooting for LMJ to shake off some of issues and come back stronger and take that next step.

I wouldn't bet against Lance, that's for damn sure considering no one is even talking about how valuable he is.

Well, I get your point but as long as the core is there I can promise you that CC will always root for Stros unless he's playing them.

Although it was at different points I their careers, I'll always consider Nolan, Earl, Moon and the Dream apart of our franchises. And each one of them left for management, organization reasons at the time.

Sure, Carlos wants win when playing against them, however, once his career is over he is always welcome back home, just like the others.

When you can absolutely see with your own eyes that your division rival is throwing the game, why in the hell do you not just throw that 2 pt conversion out of the endzone?

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing here, but the other players you listed left under very different circumstances and very different points in their careers compared to what Carlos did. No hard feelings at all toward CC, but to even mention a situation like Hakeem's seems weird to me. Just my opinion.

Well if you're Mills you're playing to keep the Texans from drafting your replacement in BY.

Maybe rather than go in on Stroud (assuming there is a trade), the Texans opt to wait for the following crop of QBs, and Mills gets another season.

Because players play to win. They are worried about their own jobs, not Texans.
