He'd be getting in based on his coaching, not his on field play. Not to say he wasn't a great player, but he wasn't HOF worthy based on it alone.
It's hard to argue against where he went to 3 straight CS, 2 straight WS, and win it all. And thats before this season!

Mancini is a poor hitting DH who doesn't make you better anywhere defensively. Alot of his #s in Baltimore can probably be chalked up to getting a few extra pitches to hit because they were so bad.
