So I was able to go to game 2 yesterday thanks to a buddy who wanted to go and bought tickets. I bought him a jersey in return along with all the beer and food. I actually think I came out behind on that agreement lol.

First we had parking. I chose the lot at 1501 Franklin Street which worked out just fine in the beginning. It cost $84 with tax so not cheap. We arrived at 5pm and had no issues getting in the gate as we beat the big crowd although there were quite a few already there. They gave everyone free rally towels so that's why you see all the orange flags people were waving on tv

We were in section 408 so while up there high, the view was just fine. Since we arrived early we walked all around inside the stadium a couple times checking out all the food and beer places. My buddy smokes but once you are inside, there is no smoking anywhere. You will have to leave the stadium and the only way back in is to buy another ticket. I am not a food connoisseur so if you want to know the best places to eat, I'd say any of them lol.

At 5:30 the stores selling astros gear inside werealready jammed with a wait line. We didn't go in them as we already had our jerseys. We bought his at Academy beforehand and I already had mine from my last trip there to a game.

Beer was expensive to say the least. Bought a couple bud lights first and spent over $30 on them. Afterwards we found they had the 25oz cans for around $19 each. Maybe that was a better deal? We bought a couple basic hot dogs and that also totaled about $34 for both of them. I knew it would be expensive but I still hate being raped like that. We did buy some other Crawford sausage dogs later in somewhere but by that point the beers were kicking in.

Wow what a game! Couldn't ask for a better start so the crowd was immediately into it. The gentleman selling beer and peanuts in our section was great! At one point when he was getting low on peanuts he holler's out "does anyone want deez nuts?!" and most of the section laughed.

The in game experience is much better than watching it on tv since you don't get to see or hear the walk up songs, sing take me out to the ball game etc. A lot of foul balls get hit in the sections somewhat behind home plate in the 2-300 levels and is probably the best places to be to try for a game ball.

When the game was over, leaving was fairly easy getting out of the stadium. The highlight of walking back to the parking lot is we had people dropping beers to us on the ground from around 5 stories up. Evidently we passed by some townhomes or something but at that point I already had plenty to drink and wasn't paying too much attention to my location. All I saw was beer being dropped and instincts kicked in. I attempted to catch 2 beers. They were natty light but since it was free I wasn't complaining. I don't know how many they had but i watched about a dozen other fools try to catch them.

So we make it back to the parking lot and I smell like beer since I attempted to drink out of a crushed can that hit the sidewalk due to my failed hand/eye coordination abilities. My buddy is smoking so we are just hanging out at the truck waiting for traffic to die down. Out of the blue all of a sudden the street was filled with a bunch of people on bicycles riding right down the streets blocking any cars. My buddy yelled to get in the truck! He use to work downtown and said it was some kind of gang or something and wanted to stay out of sight. It looked pretty cool seeing as they had lights and such. When they finally cleared, I cranked up the truck when people on atv's rode into our parking lot blocking one of the entrances. My buddy said "oh crap" so I floored it out of there to a different exit. Not sure what was going on but I wasn't going to stay and find out. By that point it was around midnight I think.

After that we went to a club called numbers and finished out the night. Not my cup of tea really but he wanted to go.

The whole game experience was fantastic and I am seriously thinking about going to game 6 if it goes that far. Tickets in the 400 level were $600 or higher per person.

I'm sure the post game numbers crowd was largely unaware that a game occurred.

I remember going to Numbers a few times in the late 90s when I wasn't 18 yet, because we could get in and usually get alcohol. It was an interesting crowd then, and I had no idea that place was still open.

That doesn't sound like the critical mass people. They usually do critical mass once a month...

I went to G2 and had a similar experience. I was in town from out of state for the weekend, and bought resell tickets on seatgeek. Had a great time.

I found a parking garage on Parkwhiz on Fanin that was ~$20. About a 1/2 mile walk to stadium, but no big deal.

Yes, the team stores were packed and had long lines. Yes, the concessions were overpriced.

Crowd was great in the first--Framber's good start in the T1, and the 3 consecutive hits in the B1 to plate some runs and end the inning up 3-0. Came alive again in the 5th with Breggy's HR, and again when the Phils were threatening in the 7th, and the bottom 9th to close it out. Throughout the crowd was buzzing, but a bit tame since the game was in control from the beginning.

Pressly's walk in song is pretty bad-ass.

Nice little fireworks effects at the end of the game.

After the game, we did see the bicycle group and several ATVs on the streets. Wasn't really sure what they were doing. They did seem to jam up traffic a bit, but nothing too serious.

What I've seen leaving night games isn't the whole big Critical Mass w/ the police escorts, but a smaller group that loves to run thru traffic and blow thru intersections daring people to hit them. Had some pos bang on the side of my truck when they came racing up between cars and weaving around.

LOL... Numbers!! Many do not realize it was a hub for major music acts in the 1990s..

I saw REM at Numbers shortly after their first album. Stipe sang Moon River solo as an encore

I'm always amused by people who are surprised that beers are expensive at sporting events.

When my in-laws lived in Chicago (~ 1 mile from Wrigley; still pissed they sold that place) they got caught up in one of those critical mass clusterf*****. One of the idiots banged on the roof of their car as he rode by and a bystander yelled at him to "Leave those poor old people alone!" My mother-in-law was more pissed at the bystander for calling her old than the bike idiot for hitting their car.

I went last year at the Braves Stadium. Had a great time. I prefer outdoor stadiums this time of year.

But the juice box is great when the roof is closed.

I see some around $650 now, but I don't know how much the fees are w/o entering billing info - which I will not be doing.
