I don't like the idea of moving Adolis. We'd be going after Soto to fill the last OF spot. Giving up Adolis would be counterproductive
100% agreed

Radio guys and some on here believe your package is way undervalued. It is a trap I fall into. I look at it like "Can we find enough talent to get a deal."hawk1689 said:
I think you guys are way undervaluing the package for Soto. They have 2+ years of team control. They don't need to move him. If we could pull it off, it might be something like Jack Leiter, Jung, Winn, Duran, and Nate Lowe.
There is another possibility and this would require a HUGE commitment from the Rangers.investorAg83 said:hawk1689 said:

You're overvaluing it; if that's what they demand they're going to get nothing for him when he walks.
I didn't want to get involved until I heard Corbin was being moved with him. We should be able to put together a worthy package that will not set us back from competing soon.
I think we "have enough." The question is... do we have a guy the Nats would really be seeking as a headliner.hawk1689 said:
If you're saying that we may not have enough, I agree with you. I probably would add Taveras to my original proposal. That still might not be enough. This is a Miguel Cabrera type deal with more team control.

When is the last all-star they've even developed through their own farm system?

JD has perfected the GM Speak. He talks a bunch, says nothing, and leaves the fan thinking they heard what they wanted to hear.
Admittedly... I'm not a big fan of JD. I used to be, but not much anymore.
What I heard was... expect guys like Dunning and Sam Dyson. Guys with multiple years of control. Role players. Guys most of us are not expecting.
I'm cynical.

Take Alex Speas off of your list, he has retired and is now a coach somewhere.

Feels a bit like a make-or-break stretch of the season before the All Star Break.
10 game homestand... Anything worse than 5-5 and you gotta figure the wheels are pretty much off this thing.

4-6 on the homestand... Not a complete death knell, but staring at a 11-game road trip to start the 2nd half pretty much means any moves we make should be geared solely towards 2023 and on, as this year is done as far as playoffs go.
Probably to audition him for the trade deadline?rbtexan said:
Semien is a better defensive SS than Smith. Also if Smith has a future as a starter on this team it won't be at SS or 2B....so why waste time putting him there when he can be getting reps where he's more likely to have a future
