You lost me at Mac Engel
Ok. One more post, then I gotta jump on a conf call. ROFL.DannyDuberstein said:
I never said I thought it wasn't the right pick. I just said the responses where they stumble around on the type of surgery and Boras/Rocker say they aren't gonna talk about it was strange and at least raised some questions. The fact he's pitching again and throwing hard is huge for me. I think it's worth the risk.

Is Soto a serious option and consideration?
Oh, we've got the prospects. We'd just have to send so many of them to the Nats that it would potentially gut the farm system for years. Big gamble if for some reason acquiring Soto doesn't pan out (or if we were unable to sign him to an extension).jtstanley4621 said:Jimmy McNulty said:

So far I've seen one article saying we could land him. IMO the only realistic shot we have is to throw all the money we've got at him when he hits free agency. Our farm system isn't terrible but I just don't feel like we'd have a realistic package that would be intriguing to the Nats

You absolutely, 1000% have to have an agreement in place to extend his contract BEFORE you make a trade for him. Getting a 2 year rental for the price it will take to get him just isn't worth it.Mr Gigem said:
The more I think about it, the most logical thing to do is to wait until Soto hits FA. It really doesn't make sense to trade for him right now.

The way I see it, is Soto is a generational talent. How often do you get a chance to have that? If it takes 4 top 100 prospects, so be it. The Rangers can't seem to develop talent anyways. When is the last all-star they've even developed through their own farm system? That could change with CY running things now, but give me the known in Soto 10 times out of 10.

So what did he say? Did they ask him how he got in over Jonah Heim?Schall 02 said:
Pretty painful to watch Jose Trevino in the ASG mic'd up and getting ask why he took off in NY.

I think you guys are way undervaluing the package for Soto. They have 2+ years of team control. They don't need to move him. If we could pull it off, it might be something like Jack Leiter, Jung, Winn, Duran, and Nate Lowe.
