I'm surprised at how bad the pitching is. 10 runs on opening night?

Meant Seager not Semien (on error and weak throw)

Rangers front office will never learn that in order to win you have to have quality pitching. During the off-season they spent a boatload of money on Semien and Seager but Gray was the only decent pitcher they signed. Never been a fan of Jon Daniels.
Terrible…… Sborz was dog manure last year also and woody brought him out to "protect" the lead.ryanhnc10 said:
We've used 5 pitchers, all of them have given up at least a run
10 runs is a lot of runs to give up. Especially on opening day when you're supposed to be using your best pitchers because everyone is fresh.Quincey P. Morris said:
We're really surprised? Middle infield and one SP was addressed. It's not like the Blue Jays are devoid of talent at the plate. This team isn't making the playoffs. I'm looking for better than last year and address more issues in the off-season.

Welp. Just like last opening day. Come out like gang busters and give it all back and more.
And we couldn't take advantage of it.Quincey P. Morris said:
And? It's baseball. It happens. I'm sure Toronto didn't expect their opening day starter to go a third of an inning.
Yep. I hope the flow of Opening Day is the ONLY thing that winds up being reminiscent of last year.DannyDuberstein said:CampingAg said:

Speaking of though, Kyle Gibson was an absolute train wreck that got 1 out last year, then he turned into a stud
I'm not a fan of JD, either, but I think the FO did what they needed to do.BCEDAg said:

In addition to his physical ability, he also has the intelligence to read hitters and the confidence to throw any pitch in any count, ingredients that should help him become a frontline starter.

Its not lost on most of us that you didnt show up until Toronto came back in the gameGrapesoda2525 said:And we couldn't take advantage of it.Quincey P. Morris said:

Sborz and Santana weren't good last year........cant tell me those were the best possible options to round out the BP and if Barlow is supposed to be the closer, why did he not pitch? We had to have had better options?PatAg said:Its not lost on most of us that you didnt show up until Toronto came back in the gameGrapesoda2525 said:And we couldn't take advantage of it.Quincey P. Per Sarah: Third biggest opening day comeback of all time, biggest since 1950. https://t.co/avbd3KPZ94

lol not me!!!!!!
Middle relievers are always a crap shoot. Sborz looked promising at the end of last season. It is hard to get upset with a guy giving up a hit to Guerrero who hit .311, 48 HRs, .401 OBP, last season, at the age of 22. Like his father, he is only going to get better.Grapesoda2525 said:
