Is there not a Dallas sellout beer they can have in the stadium? It's annoying to see Karbach plastered all over everything in Houston as it is.

Well, since the stadium is in Tarrant County, there are Fort Worth breweries that would look great up there. Rahr & Sons comes to mind.

If they're not big enough, Revolver is big enough now.

There are several Fort Worth breweries. Would be nice to see one in the stadium

How'd they work that deal? The Astros at least have a whole bar of The Godfather of Texas craft beers in Saint Arnold.

How many pitches is the backstop gonna catch this game?

They paid a **** ton of money for the rights.

That's not to say there aren't other beers. It's just one off stands

If I were to guess... Sysco Foods (HQ in Houston) is the Distributor for MMP.

Ben E. Keith (HQ in FtW) is likely the distributor for GLF. If I understand correctly, BEK owns the Distribution rights for Anheiser Busch.

FWIW... InBev bought Anheiser Busch.

Sysco distributes alcohol? We've definitely got Ben E. Keith down here. Not sure who has the overall rights for MMP though.

It was just a guess. Maybe not.

Found this from 2017:

Quote:

HOUSTON (April 5, 2017) The Houston Astros, Anheuser-Busch, Silver Eagle Distributors and Aramark continue to work in partnership to implement the Budweiser Good Sport program at Minute Maid Park, an action plan designed to educate fans about the importance of using a designated driver, buckling up and demonstrating positive fan behavior during the 2017 Astros season.

If AB InBev has the GLF exclusive, that explains Karbach.

If you wander down to the big bar down the left field line, they have some Wild Acre beers on tap. I need to try and find somewhere closer to my seats that sells their beers.

You should have stayed on the 3B side.

Only 4 games out of the last WC spot. With a second half slightly better than the first half, and a little cannibalization of the AL East, it could be an interesting summer.

We desperately need at least one more regular starting pitcher. I think you gotta bring Cole Winn or Spencer Howard up this weekend.

Winn seems to be struggling this year. Ragans is the guy that seems the most ready.

I doubt it will be Ragans, given his injury history and recent promotion to AAA. I absolutely think we'll see him before the end of the year, but I bet they give Howard another shot at this time.

One thing to keep in mind when you're looking at our AAA pitching stats - the PCL is a hitter friendly league with lots of hitter friendly parks. League average ERA is about 5.30. You almost have to shave an earned run off of every pitcher's ERA to get a more accurate idea of how they're pitching.

I would bring him up exactly for the injury history. See if he can help while he can and before the next one. Maybe even deal him if he produces a little.

That doesn't make a lot of sense IMO. If his injury issues are behind him, he's a quality rotation piece and you keep him. If injury recurrence is a concern/issue, other teams are going to be fully aware of that and the return in a trade would be minimal.

He was too high of a draft pick and too highly regarded to give up on him just when he's starting to live up to his potential. Rushing him to the majors would be foolish, and is the type of mistake the Rangers made far too many of in the past.

I would keep him on the minors and work on his injury issues. Bringing him up has little benefit and a lot of risk.

He won't pitch long enough to help other teams feel good about him so trade value would be hit.

I'll simplify this for everyone since I've had conversations with those in know within the organization. Leiter, Winn, and Ragans are considered huge priorities for this organization moving forward, and won't be rushed to the big leagues. Leiter still has a ways to go. Winn has been struggling with consistently. IMO Ragans is probably the most ready right now, but probably will not get the call until later in the season.

Spencer Howard will be the next man called up, and will likely be a rotation piece for a while.

I believe the organization feels we aren't likely to make a postseason run, so will probably not be spending valuable pieces in the minors or big league club at the trade deadline. If any moves are made, it will be from the abundance of middle infield talent we have waiting in the wings. I would expect us to hold until Martin Perez and extend him.

We have needs at 1B, Corner Outfield, and SP. All of which I believe will be answered via the draft in July and the offseason.

All that to say I could WAY off

I agree with all this. This team's greatest needs have options in the minors and we aren't going anywhere this year - ergo it's silly to rush guys or trade prospects.

That being said - we need to hope Otto just was rusty Sunday and that Howard is ready to go. If not, we need an arm.

MAYBE - we can find a FA to be that is pitching just ok for a ****ty team that might want very little for him to just salary dump.

A guy like Zack Grienke, as long as the Royals don't want much more than someone else taking over the remaining part of his $13 M, is an example.

Leody having a day. Took a run off the board in the 1st, and now his first HR of the year.

I don't see any reason we shouldn't believe the top Rangers brass discusses internal strategy near the deadline with an employee that forgot it was a day game today.

Need to find a solid multi-year arm at the deadline. Doesn't have to be a "wow!" guy, but someone that could conceivably take us from a few games under 0.500 type team to a few games over 0.500 type team.

Certainly not the year to go for broke, but with the added wildcard it's a year that we don't need to be sellers or standing pat. Get a legit back of the rotation guy that gives us a decent chance every 5th day and we can hang in this race through August.
