Biggest takeaway from this game. Philly can't hit high fastballs and a good change up off of it down in the zone.

Maldonado literally catches pitches for a living but can't pick up a slider nowhere close to the plate while hitting.

There's got to be a moral victory in this game somewhere.
The moral victory is this game has to end at some point and can't go on indefinitely
Then we have Javier, JV and Framber starting which should fill some with confidence

Kyle Gibson shouldn't be able to do that to us in the WS.
Same offense that no-showed in last year's version.
Can't even blame Lance for this one at this point.
But the Braves have one of the best bullpens.
So this is even worse.
Much. It boggles the mind.
I wish it did, but this is who these guys have been all year. Score five/hit multiple homers early or pack it up and go home, outside of three or four games. It wasn't hard to know all year that if the pitching faltered, so would the team.
They could totally hit six homers tomorrow and walk away with it. Who knows. But after watching this and knowing two more are in Philly, I'm not seeing 2019 and 2021 as outliers.

I feel like smoltz is trying to change the narrative. They saw too many pitches in the same spot? Bull***** How many of those hr's were first pitch?

Smoltz knows exactly what's going on. But it doesn't help baseball or his career to state the obvious. A guy that gives up 4 HR's in 47 innings doesn't just give up 5 HR's in 5 innings because a team is "hot".
Schwarber and Harper figured it out in first inning, info that was passed from Cora to Schwarber on LMJ. By the time it got passed down, game over by 2nd and 5th innings.
This... Get Urquidy to finish this out or worst case use Will Smith and that is a big winttha_aggie_09 said:
I guess the moral victory is we didn't waste a bunch of arms and scored 0 runs?
Yep, had two saves against the 'Stros in the '80 NLCS.aftershock said:GarryowenAg said:

Think Strom would've figured it out sooner tonight? Just felt like Dusty was comatose
I find a lot of Astros fans very disrespectful towards the Astros.

And the Stros did it to Darvish. Freaking pissed that our guys didn't figure it out first.

We have two pitching coaches this year.
