Dude. How many times are you going to post this? We get it, they didn't not build a roof because of $$$. I also doubt everyone posting thinks they're poor. Quit taking everything so literally and defending the Yankees so much.
Yankee Stadium opened in 2009 cost $2.3 Billion
Not defending the Yankees. Defending baseball played outdoors.
That disparity makes little sense
But it makes a lot of cents.
Would also love to see that spineless Manfred try to tell the Yankees when they could and could not have the roof closed. For the life of me I don't understand why Crane doesn't tell him to **** off, "It's broken".htxag09 said:
How about you take a minute to think about what people are posting? Nobody on this thread really believes the richest franchise in baseball (maybe all of US sports?) is too poor to build a stadium with a roof. So, again, quit taking every damn post so literally that you researched what each stadium cost to build
Um. take a look through this thread this over the season. Even though this particular thread is dedicated to the 2022 Astros season, the topics discussed here are wide and varied.j_davis01 said:jkag89 said:htxag09 said:
Think you're lost. The Yankee ***** board is elsewhere
Take a minute and look at my posting history, I'm hardly a fan of the Damn Yankees.
In their defense technically they didn't call you a Yankee fan. You are just currently being a Yankee defender on an Astros board so feel free to defend the Yankees on the Yankee board. On the Astros board we strictly **** talk the jankees.

I agree that the park is beautiful with it open. But we hardly have it open so we lose whatever home field advantage we have with the winds swirling despite it possibly helping us the other night.
On the other hand if Manfred tells us to close it, I again tell him to **** off and open it.
.@JuliaMorales catches up with some Astros fans during the rain delay to see which road stadium theyβd like to watch the Astros play in.

The Astros are 6-3 all-time in Game 4 of the LCS.

Looks like the wind is blowing in, fly balls are gonna be an adventure, and likely not many home runs
The Yankees are just 1-for-22 with 14 Ks against curveballs so far in this ALCS.

I'm not defending the Damn Yankees. I'm defending the idea that not every MLB park needs a roof for the few times a season weather might postpone or delay a game.

The other guys look at Costas like he's a moron.
He can be such a prima donna. Some people still rip Hinch for not bringing him in relief in 2019 game 7 but who knows how he would have done coming out of the bullpen.Faustus said:
Yankees are lucky this isn't a Cole start. The delay would have flustered the **** out of him.
Four minutes is an unforeseen challenge. Over an hour would have been a Sisyphean task for the beleaguered ace.

Josh Donaldson got about as many boos as the non-2017 Astros during lineup introductions today.
