2017: Beat the Yankees, 2-1
2018: Beat the Red Sox, 7-2
2019: Lost to the Yankees, 7-0
2020: Lost to the Rays, 2-1
2021: Beat the Red Sox, 5-4
It would be easier to be confident if both Verlander and Altuve weren't coming off their worst games of the season. In that regard maybe the long layoff is good for the Astros. Sure would be good to see JV look himself in the top of the first and then Altuve lead off the bottom with a extra base hit.tjack16 said:
We are the better team for sure. But I'm still worried.
As the padres and Phillies proved, what happened in the regular series (between SD and LAD, or PHI and ATL) doesn't matter once october hits.

Yanks might win the Cole start. Otherwise Astros roll in 5.
Against LFMJ? Think again sir

When Cole left, I didn't hold anything against him. He's always felt like the kind of guy that is never happy with where he is.
I love how much we are in their heads. I would absolutely play that up. The Astros should have the guy running the train do random stuff like occasionally hold up a sign or wave a towel. Maybe flash the lights in the bar out behind center. They should put random listening devices that don't actually do anything in the Yankees dugout. Convince them their every move is being watched. Maybe even have an unmarked car follow them to their team hotel.bearkatag15 said:“Well, not a *million* years ago.”

Champagne in hand, Yankees Aaron Boone talks to SNY about how clubhouse looks at Houston’s cheating era now, and what makes this year’s team so tough. https://t.co/FNORjBGmibWhistling, flashing lights. Long list of complaints to MLB by Tampa Bay in Oct. 2019. These aren’t just internet rumors, even though the buzzer thing didn’t check out.

Keep trying to sell that book. Still trying to make 2019 part of the scandal

Lol just hide random blinking lights around the ballpark. Just absolutely gaslight the Yankees into insanity. I love this plan.

Not sure why wouldn't go with Urquidy. He had a solid outing in NY over the summer.
I know I've seen this pulled elsewhere but don't know where to go look. What are Vazquez and Mancini's stats against the Yankees?Bag said:
My prediction is that Trey Mancini and Vazquez come up with one huge hit each in this series. I know I have been down on our trade deadline fiasco, but these dudes know the yanks all too well, and that works in our favor

Makes me wonder how many guys have won the Cy Young in both leagues. That must be a really small number.

ICYMI Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson (@mroctober)had great success with the @Yankees,but in this ALCS between the Yankees and @astros he's pulling for the Astros. Details that don't fit the narrative are left out. The one reason I did not want to face the Damn Yankees in the ALCS was how they were going to spin '17 and '19 series. If NYY wins it will be, "see they only won because the Astros cheated." If they lose, I'm sure will hear how we are still cheating somehow, someway.Bag said:
This weasel conveniently leaves out the part about MLB categorically crushing Tampa Bays complaints, releasing a statement claiming absolutely no evidence was found to support any these these wild accusations
