Dillon Harrell, from New Caney, who caught Yordan Alvarez’s walk-off home run, gets to meet Yordan courtesy of Carlos Correa Family Foundation. Dillon was going to give Yordan the ball, but the Astros star wanted Dillon to keep it. Yordan did sign the ball & @dharrellfishing jersey pic.twitter.com/p4XHYofXoG
In my head I see this scenario playing out with Correa also on hand and the guy being starstruck by Yordan, but not Carlos, then it turns into the scene from Avengers: Endgame where the kids want Smart Hulk's autograph in the diner but don't really care about Antman .
Astro Fan : "Mr. Alvarez? Can we get a picture?"
Yordan: "100%, little person. Thanks, pal, everybody, say Air Yordan!"
Carlos: "Oh hey, you want to grab one with me? I'm Carlos Correa!"
Awkward silence
Carlos: "They're Yordan fans, they don't know who Carlos Correa is. Nobody does anymore. Nobody- "
Yordan: "No, he wants one, I'm sure he wants one. C'mon who wants to take a picture with him?"
Carlos: "Look, he's shaking his head no. I don't want a picture with him."
Yordan: "He's happy to take it, look he wants to ..."
Heading out to MMP. Sitting in 104 by the LF foul pole this afternoon. I'll be wearing my blue Ryan jersey, so flag me down and we'll drink a beverage or three.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.
If I were the Astros, I'd send an unsigned memo to Servais telling him to ask Juan Soto if they should throw at Jordan today. He's who will suffer the consequences.
He's got a point. Could have made the announcement yesterday and pushed it to 7pm
Yea it’s pretty freaking close to the originally planned game time. Too late to do it now. But could’ve switched them last night when it was known the weather wasn’t great in NYC
When the deal happened, I thought it was fairly obvious that they were going to trade him at this year's deadline for decent prospects. I guess they were close enough to a playoff run where they thought it was worth a shot?
Everybody saw this coming.
the Twins' gambit failed in more ways that one.
Minnesota missed the playoffs in a weak division, and the Twins did not get to trade him because they were in 1st place at the deadline.
however the Twins are very happy that he's opting out --- he's off their books
Well, based on what you quoted, I'd say his "proposed improvements" would be to have Vazquez instead of Machete....
speaking of Machete and improvements...
whatever homework or game planning or preparation Machete did for the Mariners lineup for game 1...needs to be changed / updated / improved upon for game 2
The postponement could really benefit Cleveland if they can get to NY's pen. They basically don't have one and now they have to play 4 straight days. It's a big if and it really means Cleveland needs to win game 2 to take action.
