Last off-season I was hoping he'd stay out of NYY, LA and Arlington. Now I just don't care.

the Twins' gambit failed in more ways that one.

Minnesota missed the playoffs in a weak division, and the Twins did not get to trade him because they were in 1st place at the deadline.

however the Twins are very happy that he's opting out --- he's off their books

speaking of Machete and improvements...

whatever homework or game planning or preparation Machete did for the Mariners lineup for game 1...needs to be changed / updated / improved upon for game 2

The postponement could really benefit Cleveland if they can get to NY's pen. They basically don't have one and now they have to play 4 straight days. It's a big if and it really means Cleveland needs to win game 2 to take action.
