I like how Chandler waits for the guy to leave to mention how important he is to the organization

regarding Bregman and a possible extension...

one small concern...the month of August saved his season and then some. He was a very average player in the other 5 months.

a few numbers...

34 of his 142 season hits came in August --- 24%

16 of his 61 x-base hits came in August --- 26%

slugged .681 in August --- next best month was .455 in July

Anyone need 2 tix to the game tomorrow? I can't go. 407 row 22, aisle seats (I think)

Let me know!

Can you rest your head on the back on that row?

I don't think that is accurate, W.

Mar/Apr - 129 wRC+ (29% abover avg)
May - 107
Jun - 142 (excellent month)
Jul - 119
Aug - 216 (MVP+ Level)
Sep/Oct - 104

He had zero months below average. Even if you take out his Aug and just avg his Weighted Run Created + per month (it doesn't work that way) he would have a wRC+ of 120.2. That is well above average and would put him ranked around guys like Josh Bell, Andrew Benintendi, Rhys Hoskins, Matt Olson, Ian Happ if you took away his best month.

My plan was to get cheap seats and score Gallagher club passes… but then work happened.

Reminds me of the first aggie game I attended as a freshman. Back in the old tacklebox and horseshoe config. I pulled freshman tickets and has no idea what good or bad was. It was either 3rd deck or 1st so I went with 3rd. Got in the stadium and started walking up. And up and up and up. They were top row seats. Nosebleed indeed.

Honestly I watch that walk off against Chapman more than any other post season clip.

It's a split for me between that and bregman driving in fisher in game 5. That's the most electrified I've ever heard a crowd at the juice box

That was the first time I'd ever witnessed and been a part of mass hysteria. I've never seen or heard anything like that. I was physically damaged after that game - my hands were black and blue for days afterwards from slapping the seats in front of me, my left lung felt like it collapsed around the 8th inning from yelling (I now think I hyperventilated), my cousin damn near ripped my left nipple off at some point during the game, the two 70 year old ladies behind us left scratch marks on my neck from jumping up and down hugging me, and I couldn't speak louder than a whisper for 2 days. I gave them everything I had that night.

Now I'm fired up…..
It's the level beyond the roar that kicks in when Fisher pops up out of the slide and pumps his fist that really gives me the chills. Because quite honestly we were still sort of suffering from Battered Astros Syndrome at that point. Down 4-0, down 7-4, every time we scored, they scored, if we lost it's back to LA down 2-3, etc.

It's GAME DAY!

You wanted the big boys, Seattle? How about the Cy Young winning, future HOFer, super-model marrying kind?

Yeah, her.

Here we go boys, 11 wins to destiny.

Oh, and somebody wake Dusty up.

Odds are Servais will try to start some shtt in this series. Key will be to resist. Given that Dusty is asleep half the time this shouldn't be hard.

Stros in 4, celebrate the series win in Seattle.

Kinda funny that the Mariners finally make the playoffs and Kyle Seager is gone. Definitely one of the guys you don't want to face batting at MMP

During the season didn't Servais throw at a couple Astros after one of his players hurt himself fouling off in an at bat? It was bizzare.

Then there was whatever brawl he instigated versus the Angels early in the season.

Not sure how he flies under the sports media radar, probably because he generally stays quiet.

He did. I don't think he understands what "retaliation" actually means.

I feel like Seattle is the equivalent to Baylor when we were in the Big 12. They try so desperately hard to claim we are bitter rivals. But the truth is they have been irrelevant for so long that nobody pays them any attention.

Who knows? Baseball is so unpredictable. I hope our star players show up and hit well. We need good Bregman, we need Yordan to do it himself and not rely on Jobu.

I don't think there is a huge gap between any of the remaining AL opponents. The issue is it's only a game 5 series. The shorter the series, the more likely of "anything can happen".

Assuming you have a cable subscription or streaming service, they all can be accessed anywhere in the US with internet. Log in to whatever you have and turn to TBS. Or you can dowload the TBS app, enter your cable/streaming log in and stream there.

This was hilarious to read…poor Gerrit..quotes weren't back to back but best two by him in the article

Quote:

"I think it's the hardest job in the league," Cole says. "I don't think there's a harder place to be the ace. I think it's the most hunted job in the league and I think it comes with the most weight. The division is a ****ing (gauntlet). Above all else, I'm paid to keep us in the game as long as I can and take the ball every single ****ing time that I can and charge straight into the fire."

"It'd be very nice to be living at home, playing with Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani," Cole said. "I could be spending today grilling burgers and drinking beer and gambling on football games. Instead, I'm here at Yankee Stadium throwing a bullpen at 10 ****ing 40 am, but we've got the LDS coming up, and I'm pumped."
