I get it, but BABIP doesn't measure how hard a ball is hit. His expected batting average since the trade is well under league average.

He is absolutely struggling, but that doesn't mean we should ignore the rest of the information.

He's not great right now and he's unlucky while he's at it. Maybe he'd just be close to league average (overall offensively, not just BA) if things broke as expected. And that is not what we wanted from the trade deadline, but that is still a vast improvement from our current 1B production.

Positive regression is still coming. It just might be for the next team paying his salary... or maybe its in Oct and he becomes a legend.
