Yankee fans are trash and I don't think it'll change their attitude even if Judge is found to be using a titanium core bat and mainlining Dianabol. My main motivation is wanting Altuve to be judged on fair scales no pun intended when HOF time comes around.

JV finishes 1rst in ERA 1.74 (2nd is 2.16), 1rst in WHIP .83 (2nd is .91).

Just dominated the field.

Since the 1940s and excluding the Covid year, the only pitchers with a WHIP lower then JVs this year are Pedro's still stellar 2000 season at .74, Maddux in '95 with .81, and JV in '19 with .80.

So he sandwiched his Tommy John's surgery with 2 of the lowest WHIPs recorded since WW2. That's pretty awesome.

Here's my great stat of the day from a little BR reference.

On June 18, the Yankees beat the Blue Jays to improve to 49-16 while the Astros were shelled by the White Sox (with me there) 7-0 to fall to 40-25.

The Yankees at that point had a 9-game lead over us for the #1 spot on their way to winning 120 games.

In the 96 games since then, the Astros have gone 65-31 and the Yankees have gone 50-46.

1) He acts like he's been sentenced to cover the Astros instead of realizing he's got one of the premiere beats in not only all of baseball, but all of sports.

2) He is super passive-aggressive about Dusty Baker in his tweets. Either criticize him straight on or STFU.

3) He seems to tweet a lot about rain delays and bad conditions in the press box and where he's seated for playoff games. He's really myopic about the job he is getting paid for versus the kind of jobs that most fans have.

Since being traded Trey Mancini has a batting average on balls in play of .198.

He's unlucky right now while still making contact. Similar to what happened to Tucker to start the season.

I get it, but BABIP doesn't measure how hard a ball is hit. His expected batting average since the trade is well under league average.

I like the guy but he's been struggling in a big way and it's okay to say it.
