What is our record wearing the Space City jerseys? We always seem to lose in them.

I'm guessing like 2-5 or something like that

Chasing #s

Altuve - .300
Batting .297 currently. He needs 4 or more hits in 8 or fewer ABs.

Alavrez & Bregman - 100/100
Yordan needs 7 runs and 4 RBI
Alex needs 8 runs and 8 RBI
I would guess only Yordan's 100 RBI is in range

Tucker - 30/30
Needs 1 HR and 5 SB.
Only the HR one is in range.

Mancini - More HRs than Yuli as an Astro
Both have 8 this year. Boom boom needs likely 1.

Verlander - 1.74 (lowest AL ERA since Pedro in 2000)
5-2/3 IP, 0 ER

Wish I had known that term in the 90s. Could have told my parents that any semester now my GPA would have an upward regression.

I would have to agree. But we're running out of time to see it.

As an Astro

Mancini
112 balls put in play
89.6 EV (In line and very solid)
15.0 LA (pretty damn ideal)
8.9% Barrel (down but still good)
36.6% Hart hit (way down)

10.6 BB%
26.0 K%

Both are a little up from his "normal" #s, but fine. His ratio is about the same.

His rate of hitting infield fly balls are at 15% of batted balls. Entirely too high and way up for him. His FB% is up too, but that's not always a bad thing.

He has a .198 BABIP. Even if he's doing a few things not as well in Houston (like the pop ups), this # is not sustainable. The lowest he's had in his career is .286 his rookie year.

Even as bad as he's been his wRC+ is 83. Yuli's in that time has been 63.

Bad Mancini > the corpse of Gurriel

I thought it was funny that Blum mentioned if the Mariners make the playoffs and play the WC series in Toronto and lose they will not even have a playoff home game.

After the long wait for that fan base to finally make it but not have a home game is comical.

Braves likely locked up the division with the sweep over the Mets, but Odo is getting another start today. A loss here and 2 Mets wins (DH) and things get interesting again.

I must reiterate as we come to the end of the season, that if we play the Mets in the World Series, Mike Scott better throw at the first pitch at the first home game. I could watch Hernandez and Carter flail at these pitches all day long.

So 5 game series what do we want the rotation to look like
Gm 1 - JV
Gm 2 - LMJ (better at home)
Gm 3 - Framber (better in the road)
Gm 4 - Garcia/Urquidy
Gm 5 - let's hope it doesn't come to this but JV

Game 1 JV
Game 2 Framber (I think this is what they'll do incase he's needed for game 5)
Game 3 LMJ
Game 4 JV (normal rest)
Game 5 Framber (4 day rest with Javier in reserve)

I'd love to play them in the ALCS and win it on their home field.

At this point, we have clinched our last three pennants at home. I'd love to do it on the road and make the opposing fans exit sadly. Celebrating a pennant at Yankee stadium or in Seattle would be incredible

I dont disagree but we have the pitching so I dont see why not use it.

1: JV
2: McC (Relief: Brown/Garcia/Urquidy)
3: Framber (Relief: Next best that didnt pitch the day before)
4: JV (Next man Up and possible G2 reliever if necessary)
5: Javier (McC in relief if needed)

We have 5 very good to elite arms in Neris, Abreu, Stanek, Montero, & Pressly. Unless a starter falls flat on their face, you're not going to need Garcia & Uriquidy. I doubt both will even make the roster. There is no reason to bring back the game 2 starter on super short rest for game 4.

I didn't say G2 starter....I said whoever you used in relief.

I don't want those 4 relievers in every game therefore I use guys who have been SP throughout the year as the first arm out of the pen, unless the starter goes 7 or 8

And I can almost guarantee you we will carry 13 arms

You're right, I read that wrong.

I listed 5. And if you used them every game that's 4 IP a game for the starter. They're obviously going to go longer than that. You'd be using 2-4 a game. With the off days between games 1 and 2 / 2 and 3, you're going to need to go 12 or 13 deep regardless if what is carried on the roster.

Do you trust Garcia or Urquidy over Maton? Abreu? Stanek? Brown? I think those are your main candidates for 6th or 7th inning.
