Need another arm for bullpen, probably will be LHP
The Orioles and Pirates are at different points in their rebuilding arc and would want different things in a trade. The Pirates are in a permanent state of rebuild, so they want prospects. The Orioles are close to contending, so they want guys in or close to the majors. We are better suited to trade with the Orioles than we are the Pirates right now, so I doubt we'll get Reynolds.agproducer said:
I've been calling for Brian Reynolds for months. It's good to see the Astros have interest.
I'd love to have Mullins, but I think his price would be considerably higher.
Very nice. Surely not as anything more than a throw-in. I can't believe any organization would trade anything more than 6th inning RP on an expiring contract for a 27 y/o extreme long shot lottery ticket.bearkatag15 said:
The multiple team interest in Siri is a nice development

I would however love to see Siri's stat line for a cellar dweller that gives him 150 CF starts in a season. He could be the first member of the 30/30 club to hit under .200.
Look at 2021. Again, it's definitely been a down year but I think he's much closer to the 2021 Bryan Reynolds than the 2022 version.redline248 said:
uh...would Houston really give up much for this?

Who you sending down?
What about Mullins?redline248 said:
Reynolds
It's too bad his choices are so reckless, because he would be perfect for that postseason PR & defensive sub Derek Fisher end of the bench spot if he played with more discipline.Ag_07 said:
I'm thinking any team that needs Siri is simply looking for a OF depth or strictly defensive help.

Reynolds
That's completely fair. I guess the only difference here is we've given him 2+ years to return to form. Reynolds is just a little over half a season removed from last year.redline248 said:
The only issue, or reservation, I have with "look at last year" is Alex Bregman. How long did we wait on him to return to 2019 numbers before we realized he probably never will?

Comparing Contreras and Murphy, the seem to be pretty close, offensively, with Contreras edging out in power and walks. Murphy looks slightly better, defensively (96th percentile pop time, 88th framing). Contreras hits the ball harder, more often.

Right we should trade based on 2022 performance and compare that to the guys we already have (Chas / Meyers).
I'm just not sure if the upgrade is going to be that meaningful.
But for an elite hitting catcher? Certainly
