why do you think Siri is not a team guy? they all seem to love him. hype man always a team favorite.
Yordan Alvarez crossed the four-win threshold yesterday by both fWAR and bWAR. Alvarez is now worth 4.2 bWAR and 4.0 fWAR after 73 games. Alvarez and Shohei Ohtani are the only two American League players worth at least 4.0 WAR in both calculations.

I didn't say he wasn't. I said I felt like Jake was more of a team guy.BMX Bandit said:

100% some rebuilding team should see if he can't become the next Eric Davis. Like we did with Justin Maxwell.Ag_07 said:
Siri has absolutely raked since going down.
I really think if someone can find Siri regular playing time he can be alright. Hopefully there's a team out there who agrees.

Anyone see this thing about Manfred putting Cabrera and Pujols in the All Star game?
Love this idea. Honor the greats and send them off.redline248 said:

I was looking at season/standing data this morning and found a kick in the junk level stat for our little buddies to the north.
They are 4-17 in one run games and 4-5 in extra innings. Two of those 4 wins and 4 of the losses were 1 run variety so in regulation they are 2-13 in 1 run games.
And here we were all told this is a skill. I guess they are skillful at losing.
The MLB Players Association made counter proposal to #MLB today, accepting form of the international draft, but different from MLB's proposal. The union proposes more money in the pool (close, but less than $100M); an earlier draft date; and excludes Puerto Rico, Japan from draft

when Altuve is officially announced as an all-star...it will be his 8th appearance.
moving him past Biggio's 7 appearances.
I think that will be the all-time franchise record
The int'l draft nearly scuttled collective-bargaining talks at the height of the lockout. The sides agreed to kick the can down the road. Accepting a draft is linked to the death of the qualifying offer. But the union wants more money for players, among other things, to say yes.

MLB and the MLBPA are very far apart on an international draft agreement, per sources.
— Alden González (@Alden_Gonzalez) July 8, 2022
MLB's original proposal: 20 rounds, hard slot, $181M for draftees, $20K limit on int'l free agents.
MLBPA counter: 20 rounds, no cap, $260M for draftees, $40K on int'l free agents.
Just to clarify: If MLBPA and MLB don’t agree on an int’l draft proposal, it doesn’t affect the season. There wouldn’t be another lockout. The qualifying offer for free agents would remain and international entry would be status quo.
