Still miffed at Dusty for sitting Bregman...could have cost us the game. This resting **** for players that are in phenomenal shape needs to stop, ESPECIALLY when they're starting to get in a groove. How does Dusty not get that?

Anyway, all-world performance by the pitching staff and now we need to feast on the lowly Royals.

With how good this team has been for 5 seasons how are you complaining about how it's being run. It's obviously working extremely well.
and bizarre people still think this is a Dusty thing, not an organizational thing.
So if it's a super secret metric Click uses and forces on Dusty why do teams that have won the WS recently have guys playing 99% of the games?

When the Astros sit a starter I wouldn't assume that the only purpose is to give that player rest. The backup players need some game time if you're going to be able to count on them later in the season.

And other teams have won WS by giving players days off.

It's like there are multiple ways of doing something.

Astros did same thing under last manager.

Stay miffed. We keep our guys fresh as best we can. It matters when the object is the play 11-19 extra games. If you've watched this team for the last near decade you'd see it's working.

I've ragged on Martin a ton bc of hitting, but he's an awesome ballplayer and a great teammate

None better in the game today to apprentice under for that position. Hopefully next year is going to be a crash course for Lee.

Before this year, he's been really good with the Mets. He has a 123 OPS+ as a Met. Its better than Bregman 20-22.

This was the throw in for the Straw trade, correct? Click is turning into quite the talent evaluator.

Dunno if he can catch but definitely has a better bat than Lee.

The Astros just spent the weekend making the Angels look like a minor league team including a capper that saw a Rookie smoke a 429 ft bomb to centerfield to walk it off. What did ESPN decide was the biggest story?

The thing is, Ohtani is not having nearly the same season. He had played literally 50% of his game total from last year.

His slash numbers have gone from .257/.372/.592 to .262/.344/.504. His walks and HRs are down significantly and will prorate to about 70% of last year. Runs scored are down, RBI are right on pace, SB way down. His fWAR was 5.1 and right now he's 1.7

His pitching numbers are slightly improved. But lots of guys have improved numbers.

If you consider the TV revenue models that are driving college football, MLB isn't different. The LA market of eyeballs is huge. They are going to write piece of LA/NY/CHI regardless of their performance for the $$$

This week marks the halfway point in the 2022 season. Thoughts so far in the form of 3 Things?

Pleasant surprises:
1. Jeremy Pena (129 OPS+), holding up well against Correa comparison (138 OPS+)
2. Altuve's power is back
3. Pitching staff vying for best in baseball, even without LMJ

Opportunities (keeping it positive):
1. Alex Bregman, .755 OPS is worst of career and he's presumably healthy
2. Yuli Gurriel, 0.0 WAR this season and the clock keeps ticking
3. Offensive production from Catcher, although thrilled if Maldy continues his Mendoza climb

Second half keys:
1. Lance McCullers coming back healthy- this would equal a mega trade deadline move
2. Acquiring a lefthanded reliever
3. Offense needs to keep on its upward trajectory (currently 27th in BABIP)

Random category:
1. Aside from poor "Judge-ment" in NY, Dusty has been ok
2. 6-man rotation might pay huge dividends come post-season
3. All I do Is Nguyen's preemptive thread start hasn't spelled doom... but we still hold the receipt

What's on your list?
