I was at the game, it was absolute laser beam. Completely hosed the guy at home. Most impressive throw I have ever seen live.

So, Rangers fan asking questions. Seriously, was there some kind of history anywhere on that ejection because on the surface it looks like the biggest bulls*** ejection I've ever seen.

Honestly the only history I think was the Astros getting HBP 3 times in the game. I think he got tossed for something he said, and not for the pitch. It was…weird.

Also, dammit I wish y'all had won to make a move for second place!

That game was moving brutally slow.

Guys taking a lot time between pitches and coaches having long conferences on the mound before motioning to the pen.

No way in hell a 9 inning game should last 6 hours.

It was 5 hours.

I get the strategy from both sides, though. TCU had already played yesterday and it was our job to win. We did that by wearing them down (like we did all year), but even more so yesterday by making them continue to stay on their feet. TCU was changing pitchers like every other batter there for awhile, too and particularly did it to get CC out of the game once we took the 7-3 lead. I wouldn't mind a batter minimum in college now.

That being said, the umpire's ridiculously tight and inconsistent zone made the game even longer with all the walks as well.

The zone was bad but that wasn't what prolonged the game.

The time batters were taking between pitches was ridiculous and then Saarloos and his having a full on conference at the mound THEN signalling for the pen was brutal.

Also interesting to me since I don't watch much college baseball is how common it was to change pitchers in the middle of the AB.

Ags hitters do take an eternity at the plate. But they've done it all year. Ags play quite long games as their pitching gives up a bunch of hits and walks too.

That's why I was curious if that was typical or just a result of the stakes of the game.

And we make errors like its going out of style. It was very telling when our own radio guys mentioned and how sometimes a pure focus on hitting might cause that. They also discussed how some of our infield seem to make stuff more difficult like throwing on the run instead of fielding, setting and throwing....

Yep and it (along with our approach) won ballgames for us all year. Pitching staffs often pitched 600 pitches in a weekend against us. With the limited pitching depth of college teams, it won us some series.

Saarloos and his long pitching changes were also by design. Especially when we took the lead. I'm not saying it wasn't brutal, it was. Just saying there were valid reasons for the approach.

And coaches don't change pitchers mid count very often. It's just a regional final between two coaches who know each other well and couldn't afford even a single additional mistake. The regional format results in a lot of desperation moves every year.

IMO bringing in Menefee was one of those desperation moves. The amount he had already pitched, he should not have been used and it nearly cost us.

Things were mostly moving along until the 7th. In the top there were 39 pitches, 3 pitching changes and 5 runs. The bottom had 34 pitches, 2 changes and 4 runs. The 8th had 50 total pitches. Then the top of the 9th was the 49 pitch, 7 run, 3 pitcher explosion. It was college baseball. Neither team had pitching left. Coupled with the inconsistent zone and the multiple reviews and you had Aggies After Dark.

Game last night totaled over 400 pitches. The 7th inning, alone, took over an hour. I'm glad we won bc that was exhausting.

I'm surprised the ump doesn't tell our guys to get in the box faster.

Oh i agree it's worked all season with that approach at the plate. Just mentioning it's normal.

Got back from KC late last night after a 2 hour delay. Made it to all three games. Loved Kauffman. Everybody was really nice. The ballpark is beautiful. Hall of fame area is really cool, managed to work in a round of putt putt out in centerfield, and the views were excellent (love the fountains in the outfield).

Would highly recommend it.

Yep, one of our favorites. KC in general is a fun little-big town.

What would the Cubs want for Ian Happ? We have Diaz and Dubon already but Happ can play every OF position as well as 3B and 2B. Also a switch hitter.

Would provide another decent bat that can step in when guys get rest days. Just thinking out loud.

Was thinking Jay Happ at first and nearly had a mild stroke.

Now imagine if he played in the same Mickey Mouse stadium as Judge (and played as many games with juiced balls)

He'd have 24 home runs

I assume this is a joke. Judge doesn't get many cheap ones.

Not to mention Alvarez also has a short porch on his oppo side of the field.

It was slightly facetious…Judge is mashing this year. But I do believe the Yankees have played with some juiced balls and there's a few warning track shots Yordan has hit that would've been out in YS
