Wait, there are actually Dodger fans delusional enough to think that one of the most dangerous hitters in baseball at 24 is the short-end of a trade vs. a guy who is completely out of baseball and barely ever a contributor?bearkatag15 said:pic.twitter.com/JLyUr8lFVS https://t.co/XcmSB8exL3

Imagine being the dodger fan having to convince himself they didn't get fleeced in the Yordan/Fields trade

The Dodger fan may or may not think that, but neither his tweet nor the post you quoted say that at all.
Cedric Mullins in CF would be nice....texasaggie2015 said:
If we were able to get, say, Trey Mancini at the deadline... how would we work him into the lineup? Maybe Tucker would get more starts in CF? He could obviously play first as well if Yuli never gets it going. He's a lefty so it would mess up the R/L/R/L in the lineup... but he does hit lefties and righties the same (.273 and .275 for his career respectively).
How should it be done or how would Dusty do it?texasaggie2015 said:

I like Mullins but he's under contract through 2026... he would most likely cost one of the prospects we don't want to give upWabs said:Cedric Mullins in CF would be nice....texasaggie2015 said:

Outside of 2020, we've been active at the deadline under Jeff and Click.Lonestar_Ag09 said:
I'm going on record today 6/2/22 Unless we have an injury we aren't picking up a major bat at the deadline....and i highly doubt we pick up an arm either.
The only exception is if Yuli falls off a cliff compared to current production which is already low...like he is hitting Machete style...even then I believe we attempt to fill from within.
I do think we might see some bench help possibly via trading Chas/Siri, maybe package with a few low end 40 man roster arms because we are fast approaching a need for multiple spots on a 40 man roster which is full.
21: Still have Montero and Maton. and our pen has been solid this year.Farmer1906 said:Outside of 2020, we've been active at the deadline under Jeff and Click.Lonestar_Ag09 said:

Last year we got Graveman, Yimi, Montero, Maton.
2019 we got Greinke
2018 we got Pressly & Osuna
2017 we got JV (second deadline)
We were also very close to getting Britton, Harper, and who knows who else.
Yuli could very well get replaced.Lonestar_Ag09 said:21: Still have Montero and Maton. and our pen has been solid this year.Farmer1906 said:Outside of 2020, we've been active at the deadline under Jeff and Click.Lonestar_Ag09 said:

19: we got a SP, we currently have 5, 2 more coming back soon and a stud in AAA
18: Pressley is still there, still deals and isnt getting replaced
17: Still here, see explanation of 19
We have 3 CF, we arent getting a 4th
Bregman isnt going anywhere whether he "improves" or not...he is still an above average 3B
Yuli isnt getting replaced this season
So who are we replacing via trade?
I could easily see them replacing Yuli with a rental 1B or utility guy. I happen to think that Yuli will find his groove so it's a moot point, but if he doesn't they're not going to pass up a chance at a big upgrade if we maintain our current pace as a top team in the league.Lonestar_Ag09 said:21: Still have Montero and Maton. and our pen has been solid this year.Farmer1906 said:Outside of 2020, we've been active at the deadline under Jeff and Click.Lonestar_Ag09 said:

Yep. And we all know how important depth is over the course of a 162 game season. That's why I wouldn't rule out Mancini. He can play corner outfield and 1B and has a great bat. He would play nearly every day with how often Dusty rests guys.Quote:

For a young proven all star CF I'd be willing to give up Leon.
You're essentially getting an all star for 4.5 seasons, or a potential all star for 6 seasons with that.
my fantasy league catcher. It's killing my team (among other low performers).I think the issue is he is like 57 years old.Mathguy64 said:
Looking at KC, Salvador Perez has fallen off a cliff. Batting .187 with an OPS of .580. He's gone from 48 HR last year to 6 this year.
I certainly wouldn't trade Lee or Leon, but outside of the HRs each are hitting, they are struggling with avg - both around .215 with tons of strikeouts. I think both will need a year or 2 at AAA before they are ready.tjack16 said:
Here are our top 12 prospects
1-4 I'd consider untouchable unless you're talking about a shocking trade for a perennial all star.
I'd be willing to part with any of the other 8 if it means getting a guy like Mullins, Mancini, or another all star type of player

"There's no impending necessity for a guy like Hunter," Space Cowboys manager Mickey Storey said this week. "Maybe there is because I feel he could be as dominant as a number of major league pitchers. His time will come, surely, but he's in a place right now where he seems like he's playing in a league that's below his ability."
Few could blame Storey for such a proclamation. Brown brought a 2.01 ERA into Wednesday's start against the Albuquerque Isotopes. The Astros named him their minor league pitcher of the month after Brown posted a 1.21 ERA in five May appearances. He struck out 30 batters and compiled a 0.94 WHIP across the 22 1/3 frames he threw.
Leon actually walks, can steal bases, and hits for a little more power. I wouldn't say anyone with a .826 OPS is struggling.iamtheglove said:I certainly wouldn't trade Lee or Leon, but outside of the HRs each are hitting, they are struggling with avg - both around .215 with tons of strikeouts. Click working on his vocab. I would rather have Brown up as a starter. If he can prove it on the big league level for a handful of starts then I might trust him to win us a playoff game after JV, LMJ, & Framber. Maybe LuACE too. Damn this is a good problem to have.EastCoastAgNc said:James Click on possibly putting Hunter Brown in the major league bullpen: “I don’t think there’s a preponderance of evidence that that would have a massively deleterious effect on his prospect status and ability to help us as a starter in the future" - https://t.co/uCMr9f9X3g

I don't disagree fundamentally regarding Leon, but that's why I said struggling with average (and strikeouts). Also agree that next year would be where I would assume they get a chance, especially if there is improvement shown.Farmer1906 said:Leon actually walks, can steal bases, and hits for a little more power. Both will be given every opportunity at the big league level next year. We have to replace Brantley, Mandy, and Castro.
You're probably right, and it wouldn't disappoint to see them up in Sept. I just think they need more time in the minors to get some issues addressed. But both have the raw tools for certain, which should be good for us long term.Lonestar_Ag09 said:
