I would have rather kept George than Carlos tbh
Way too many national MLB reporters embarassing themselves by carrying water for Manfred, the Yankees and the Red Sox by claiming the only news here is what fine was paid.

Also, “thought to be common at the time”? Given how much air time was spent on one team cheating, that seems like something worth reporting?

So Carlos is already starting new contract discussions - using his super hot start in Minnesota to turn his 3 year deal into a long term contract. .192 and one homer, 30% strikeout rate, 3 golden sombreros already this season - had 3 all year last year. I don't know if it's bad advice, if he'll never be happy or is asking before he loses any more leverage. Just glad we found our shortstop!

On the @SeanUnfiltered show, Sean asked James Click if he read the Yankees letter. Click joked that he didn’t hear the question because he was going through a tunnel while driving.

Ryan is my favorite baseball player of all time. His toughness, and ability to command the zone will never be matched. I think one of my favorite moments was when he got into a fight at 46 years old. Didn't back down and showed Robin Ventura a thing or two.helloimustbegoing said:

April 27, 1983 - Nolan Ryan catches, then passes Walter Johnson as the all-time strikeout leader. Got Brad Mills (ironic) with a curveball (double ironic) for the record-breaker.
Unfortunately, it was all downhill for Nolan from there, he only struck out another 2,205 batters after that.
Yes, you can say the same thing about Carlos. The problem is that when you're paying guys top of the market money to play 2/3 of the season you're typically not going to have money left to have backups good enough to get you to the playoffs.Frok said:Harry Dunne said:I miss him too but that's too much money for 110 games per season.Beat40 said:

If he's healthy in the playoffs I'd take it. Dude is awesome.

George was super likeable, but he'll be 33 in September. Incredible that he once led the league in games played.
Since 2017 he's missed 20, 20, 40, 9 (Covid year), and 84 games due to injury. I wish him the best, but only playing 78 games last year for Toronto made the Astros look pretty smart and signing Brantley again, who played 121 games and was an all-star.
Brantley has to be a robot. He hit .311 in 2019, .311 in 2021, and is hitting .311 right now.

Who goes down?
That's more impressive because that's not a good hitter finding his zone, it's a crappy hitter being just slightly less than 1 for 4 every night.Johnsy3 said:This reminded me of Khris Davis, who batted exactly .247 FOUR seasons in a rowhelloimustbegoing said:

Throw to 3rd (not over his head), guy on 3rd runs down the runner between 2nd and 3rd knowing he may have to throw to home if the guy on 3rd goes for it?
