Remember when Luhnow was after Bryce Harper before he hit free agency? How Jim Crane allowed MLB and coastal media to push him to dump Luhnow is still amazing
The fact that he fired them both with all the other teams doing it is dumbfounding. Firing them did nothing but make the team worse.
I have to think there was a deal made. Take this for the MLB team and keep your ring. Disgusting to think of that a successful man like Crane would do that. Maybe I'm wrong.
If that was the deal he should have said screw that and gone nuclear on Manfred. No way he had that much clout. There is to much dirt and noise out there on the other teams. He did it pure and simple to try and save face and show that he is above cheating and it wont be tolerated.
I actually don't think it's that hard to understand - he fired Lunhow because Lunhow most likely lied to him. Anyone with a brain knows Lunhow saw the memo by the league and read the emails he said he didn't read to the end of. Any of you managers would have done the same thing.
Hinch is another story. That was the bad move in my opinion. By smashing 2 TVs, it's pretty clear he sent a message that he didn't agree with the scheme. I can somewhat understand why Hinch didn't verbally say anything to anyone - I think he would have lost the locker room. Crane should have given Hinch the Cora treatment.
