Astros made a generous offer. He turned it down. Nobody else paid him either so nobody thinks he's worth what he thinks he is. Imagine if the Astros signed him to a huge deal and he got off to the same crappy start here that he's having in Minnesota. If Peña keeps playing like he is Correa will be a distant memory. You don't give someone whatever they want because of leadership qualities. This line of thinking is why we have a catcher who is seeing if he can go 0 for the month of April.Burn-It said:
That's why you pay the man. HE was the leader of this run. Nobody on this team is THE leader.
All of these metric / cap- worry warts are seeing the results of their extensive detailed analysis.
Team sports require cohesion, not metric BS.

There is just no fire on this team right now. It's tough when you lose players like Springer and then Correa. Bregman is having a great season, but he hasn't been a vocal leader in over two seasons. There is just nobody to really light a fire under their asses right now. As nice as Dusty is, he's a quiet, geriatric slug and the team has kind of followed his lead.
You need to get Yordan back and also get Siri in the line-up. I know it's early, but I just don't see it personality wise for this team. The talent is there, just not the leaders right now.

Exactly and we haven't even played at Minute Maid yet. This team always goes on a run. I still believe that Altuve is the heart of this team and organization and we'll be fine in the long-run. Way too early to panic.astros4545 said:Lonestar_Ag09 said:

Yep
A 4-3 record projects out to a division title over 162 games
You'd think people would understand how baseball works by now

I think Chas has played a very mediocre OF at best.
Been nice nice at the plate but his defense has been lacking IMO.
Doing rehab in Florida, I don't think they gave an exact timeline, but it wouldn't likely be before mid-may at the best. The Beef01 said:
I haven't paid close attention to it, but what's the prognosis for Meyers getting back on the field?

Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. (forearm) threw 25 times on flat ground from 60 feet Tuesday and is scheduled to pitch Friday again.
And he has probably made the single best defensive play of the year for the team, robbing Trout of HRAg_07 said:

Dear MLB, this is how you draw kids to the sport.

Click will have a hard decision. Next year you need 2 staring OFers (assuming they don't offer Brantley again). You have 3 guys. Do you keep 2 or keep all 3 and see what happens? And what do you do with Leon?

Niko goodrum...DH. what a joke. Let's put him out there to do the thing he sucks the most at.
Dusty Baker special. Going by the old saying, "nothing breaks up an offensive drout like more strikeouts". At least he's not batting 3rdTRM said:EastCoastAgNc said:

even if you want Brantley and Maldy playing...Castro, Diaz or Siri are all better options at DH.Farmer1906 said:
Castro should be catching.
Brantley should be DHing.
Dusty is bad at his job.
