yes, as of today the home-road disparity for the Astros (29-16) is:

20 home games vs. 25 road games

but after another 3-city trip...it grows to:

20 home games vs. a whopping 34 road games

I think it'll be a good thing. We'll be positioned to finish strong. And more rested before the postseason.

I've enjoyed his prowess at the plate and pitching as much as the next guy, but it would be kind of fun at this point if his ERA crested 4 while his OPS dropped below .700.

The Angels have plenty of other players killing it.

I get what you mean, and I'm happy to see that happen when playing us. But I will not root against that dude. He is doing what so many before him probably could have done and I hope that it builds into more kids pushing to try it.

At young ages it is very common for your top pitchers to also be a stud fielder or a huge arm in the outfield, the same length that helps them pitch gives them extra power at the plate etc...but all of that is coached out of them. So I hope we start seeing this more, I know that it will be much more rare of course but fun to see, especially now with the new DH rules

He might be just above average in both and still be a 5-6 WAR player.

I hope they can bring back JV.

As for Brown, it depends on health of the staff. If everyone comes back strong then it seems a late season relief role is most likely. It's either that or they could look to trade a starter for some hitting help. That's a gamble but so far our pitching has been better than our hitting.

He has a player option that only becomes available if he hits 130(?) innings. If he continues to pitch at a Cy Young level or near it, I would assume he will opt out and get a 2-year deal similar to what he signed for in 2020 (2/66).
