That's theoretically possible but I'm having a hard time coming up with teams that are looking to shed salary. The Red Sox could but they are big market so only have to if they get good value. The Phillies might be ready to blow it up.

The bottom 4 have 59 games with 60 K. They SLG .254, .219, .077 and .319. Their OBP is .262, .181, .226 and .255

I know the ball sucks but that's just horrid. This bench is brutally bad. If we have two INF go down together for any amount of time it's major trouble.

Diaz and Goodrum I could see coming back toward the average, depending on the matchups. Today might be a bullpen game so hopefully we have some good coin flips.

Agreed, I was an advocate for that position last night. My concern is (long term) what happens when we start facing better teams and the offense can't scrape runs together or push in RISP. Hopefully these guys can pull it together, but I think some moves are gonna have to be made to help the offense. The lineup just isn't as deep as it has been in past years, and the pattern with the front office seems to have been "acquire pitching and defense, not hitting". They're gonna have to break that this year, and I'm not sure they can just wait around until the deadline to do it. Siri is expendable with his high strikeout rate, and Jake and Chas still have options, so one will get sent down (or traded) if they pick up a CF.

In the postseason good pitching almost always beats good hitting.

See 2019 and 2021 WS. Those teams had phenomenal pitching and timely hitting.

You get a CF with lots of postseason experience. He was in the Astros system, so lots of guys know him.

I think he would solve CF for this year, kind of like Marwin was a fit on the team. Plus, he is a utility guy who can play IF. He's an upgrade over Goodrum.

Your comparing rookie year Chas. He's already made the adjustment so far this year. His K% is much more like his minor league #s.

**** would be a nice option to platoon. But he's far from someone we should just insert in CF. He's probably a downgrade defensively from all 3 of the guys we have on the 40 man now. The postseason experience is nice though.

I don't get why you'd play both Diaz and Goodrum the same game. Why rest 2 starters at once when neither are injured?

I don't mind Yuli getting a break/reset, he's approaching automatic out territory right now.
