Catcher, utility infielder or a legitimate 4th outfielder would be a higher priority. JD is a good bar but a big nothing in the field

We already have a DH so JD wouldn't have anywhere to play. The #1 guy I'd target is Eovaldi especially if LMJ doesn't came back like an ace. I want a high end arm for the postseason.

I'd prefer Kke Hernandez. He had a price tag of $8 million, hits well in the postseason and solves CF. He's also a FA.

Eovaldi would be nice insurance as well.

Was just checking out the schedule and noticed that after the twins series this week, the Astros don't play a team currently above .500 until they face the Mets on June 21st

Seattle, Miami and likely Chicago White Sox could end up over .500 by the time we face them but all the others have little chance.

This is going to be an insanely difficult stretch of games to navigate

Mariners aren't having a fun season right now

Mariners are falling out of that tree they were way up in last year. What was their run differential last year, something like - 50 ? Angels are the ones to look out for. They are due to have some good fortune.

Our offense is still tied in knots but we are also tied in the loss column with Anaheim as of tonight. Onward and upward.

We should steal more bases since we aren't good at stringing together hits. Tucker is active on the base paths but Peña, CF platoon and Altuve should all be able to push for 20 steals.

Also, why can't we teach Maldonado to bunt? Seems simple, learn how or ride the pine. Gravy train is over.

Hernandez's K percentage is 20% for his career. Chas is 29%.

You get a CF with lots of postseason experience. He was in the Astros system, so lots of guys know him.

I think he would solve CF for this year, kind of like Marwin was a fit on the team. Plus, he is a utility guy who can play IF. He's an upgrade over Goodrum.

Now add LMJ at some point this season.

Odorizzi has had a couple good starts, that's found money during the regular season.

The offense will come around. Adding JV has been a boost but the entire staff has strung together quality starts during this streak, some a function of the opponents faced. Nonetheless encouraging.

Good news is Astros have cap flexibility to make major addition(s) at trade deadline, LMJ to return, and offense to pick up at some point.

Peña provides all kinds of positives.
