If the series goes far enough I wouldnt mind if we didn't start him again.
Game 2: Framber
Game 3: Javier
Game 4: McCullers
Game 5: Urquidy/Garcia/Brown
Game 6: Framber
Game 7: Javier/McCullers
Look, I get your sentiment.. but this is about as dumb a take as they come. Don't give the ball to the probable Cy Young winner? Give me a break.
He is 0-6 in eight World Series starts and has the worst ERA in World Series history and you think it's a dumb take to not want to play that guy when it counts?
The regular season means squat now, gotta go with guys who actually win big games.
Verlander is our worst starter in the playoffs by far.
It doesn't matter. He's going to get the start. 0% chance they skip him.
The deal is to have him on a short leash. Can't respect him like he's regular season JV and expect him to come back once the wheels start to fall off.
If Dusty would have treated him like anyone else, he would have been pulled on time and we probably win 5-3 & are not even having this conversation. Maybe even complaining about Dusty's early hook.
Makes you have a little more grace for Hinch in 2019.
