Martin Maldonado has 6 career home runs at Seattle's stadium, this is tied for the most he's hit at an opponent's ballpark.

Not really since becoming an Astro. I think he has like two extra base hits since the trade. Last 15/30 games he has an ops of .569 / .618 vs Maldy's .749 / .567.AggiEE said:Mr President Elect said:I haven't seen much evidence that Vasques is much better offensively. What's up with Maldonado getting all the starts?
Why did we trade for a better hitting Vasquez again?
As long as it's working....great, but the last few games offensively were tight games. I saw no evidence that Maldy was much better defensively or calling a game vs. Vasquez.
His stats are significantly better offensively this season.

Dusty Baker said the Astros haven’t solidified pitching plans for a potential ALDS Game 4. He said Cristian Javier is “probably not” available out of the bullpen today, but added that is “subject to change.”

Baker said Altuve is most dangerous player in building because he doesn’t have a hit. Law of averages. Acknowledged Altuve’s timing has been off with all the downtime. #Astros #Mariners pic.twitter.com/AyPhw6zXG0

I would say he has been marginally better since the trade. Hasn't done much to force his way into the lineup.

You dance with who brung ya. Vasquez was nor acquires to replace Maldy but as an extra bat for the playoffs.
.@latimesopinion: If there ever was a case for canceling the playoffs and awarding a championship to one team because it was so clearly better than all the others, the 2022 Los Angeles Dodgers would be it https://t.co/NDcIpAxPZG

He was acquired so we would not have to rely on a rookie as a back up. I think that most of the staff is just far more comfortable with Machete behind the plate than Vazquez. The Porkchop Express said:AggiEE said:

Are the Effin' Dodgers ready to give back the '88 Series trophy? Probably not. How pathetic is this..."we can't win so just cancel the playoffs and give us the trophy"
