106 - with no Correa, Springer or Cole. That's pretty strong.

Pretty amazing to think about. The pitching was just that good all year.

Well played sir. Well played.
All we need now is Prosper and 162 will be complete.

Not that 99 wins isn't a great season but considering the all first half season hype based upon their hot start, the fact the Damn Yankees failed to win a 100 games makes me smile.

K that was fun. I'll post some final stats /rankings tomorrow.

But now the real season begins. Once Lance came back and looked right (~3 starts in), I was over this season. We're ready. This team is built to win it all. All that is left is to do it.

11 wins away.

maybe we can get younger at one of the positions

I would feel a lot more confident if the roster were bolstered by a healthy Uncle Mike. I believe much of this season's offensive hiccups were due to his consistent bat not being in the line up.

Postseason baseball never ever gets old. It should be a hell of a ride. I can't wait. 11 wins or bust.

Especially if you are referring to Julia. She is still plenty easy on the eyes, loves the Game and has a great rapport with all the players and coaches in the Astros clubhouse.

I find it interesting that Maldy finished with a career high 15 HRs and even after a pretty decent second half still didn't finish above the Mendoza line.

I predicted 93-69 before the season.

Too bad we backed our way into 106 and made me look dumb

No school today, so a few weeks ago I told my son I'd take him to the game. He wanted to sit in the Crawford Boxes and used his own money to pay for his ticket, and picked out the seats (in section 101) on the Fan Ticket Exchange page on Facebook. Vasquez's home run bounced off the sign right above us and landed two rows in front of us. He wore his Orbit costume from Halloween a few years ago, and got a lot of great comments on it and got onto the Jumbotron twice. He had a pretty fun day, I'd say.

I am still amaze w/ the 106 wins. If you asked me back in early June, would have been happy w/ at least 90 wins. Great & weird season. Wish our bats were more consistent but I truly believe that it all came together at the right time. Can't wait to see the playoffs.

Well, not as confident in our offense as I was last year, but that is more than made up for by the pitching. Elite pitching.

We saw how our "offense" did in the world series so lets hope they can just stay consistent and not go completely cold

I don't get the playoff schedule this year. Off day between ALDS games 1 and 2 makes no sense. All it does is give rest to the wild card winner.

Possible this has already been discussed but I hate the new playoff schedule because I don't think it builds in enough advantage for the teams that earn byes.

Bye teams have to basically take a week off and wild card teams get the benefit of continuous flow to their seasons. To me, that advantage should be offset by the wild card winner playing with more "fatigue" going forward.

If it was up to me, no travel day between wild card round and division round and definitely no off day between division series G1 and G2.

I don't like the weird day off between game 1 and 2 but the advantage is not having to play the wildcard round. That's' it. You play for the bye and get it. Baseball is not trying to give the teams that earn a bye more advantage than the bye which they earned.

THIS

The WC will either be throwing their #3, #4 if the WC goes all 3 games, or #1 on just 3 days' rest. By game 2, Their #1 and #2 will be back at full rest, assuming the #1 didn't go on short rest.

If it's JV vs Striping or Berrios, it's not a "must-win", but it feels like it would be a huge kick in the dick if we couldn't jump out in front. From there it would be much for evenly matched up. Manoah vs McCullers and Gausman vs Framber.

Tucker 140 - 128
Bregman 120 - 133
Alvarez 145 - 187
Yuli 125 - 84
Brantley 110 - 125
Pena 115 (bullish) - 101

Maldy 70 - 69

JV 145 - 220
LMJ 125 (+/- 80 innings) - 171 in 47 innings
Framber 125 - 137
Garcia 125 - 104
Urquidy 115 - 98
Odo 110 - 103
Prediction results (actual in bold).

Funny thing is I thought I was relatively bullish to start the season but wasn't even close to bullish enough. Yuli was a fail. Not including Javier and his 152 ERA+ was a fail. Some were directionally correct, just not enough.

I get that not risk losing in the wild card round is an advantage that you earn with a bye.

My opinion is that it's a scheduling disadvantage for the bye teams to have to take a week off while the wild card winners get to play continuously AND ALSO have the benefit of rest days before/during the ALDS. It would be easy for MLB to offset that advantage by not giving a travel rest day between series.

If you disagree, that's fine.

I can see how from a momentum aspect you rather not have to sit for a week but it's a huge advantage not having to play a 2/3 series prior to a 5 game series regardless of rest days during the ALDS.

I'll take the rest and being able to have everyone available starting the ALDS over the advantage of having momentum.

Fair enough. I'd still obviously still rather have a bye than not have a bye.
