The #Cubs find their shortstop, signing Andrelton Simmons to a one year, $4M contract as @JonHeyman and @Ken_Rosenthal reported.

I love this in the CBA: @MLB “will stage games or tours in Mexico, Asia, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, London, and Paris over the next five years in order to grow the game.” Le baseball à Paris sera incroyable. 🇫🇷 @MLBNetwork

Here's a new wrinkle in the labor deal I wasn't aware of:

The Jacob Nottingham Rule!
If a team has already claimed a player once on waivers that season, it can't claim him again until every other team has passed
Nottingham zig-zagged from Seattle to Milwaukee 4 times last year

Hearing that the Yankees are willing to pay him that amount or above. As @jonmorosi reported, the expectation for Correa is that he’ll get something like a Lindor deal or better. https://t.co/oaE3FpYoiR

Don't expect a warm welcome back at Houston.
Andrelton Simmons is the misshapen genetic clone that emerged when they combined the DNA of Ted Simmons, Andre Dawson, and Terry Pendelton.EastCoastAgNc said:The #Cubs find their shortstop, signing Andrelton Simmons to a one year, $4M contract as @JonHeyman and @Ken_Rosenthal reported.

Sources: Freddie Freeman negotiations expected to reach a conclusion in next 24 hours and possibly by the end of tonight. #Dodgers have made a strong offer, and it is unclear if the #Braves will match it. @MLBNetwork @MLB

I'm calling BS on NYY. They always think they're getting everyone.

Freeman and Kershaw signing with LAD and Correa with NYY would mean this whole fight over a lower CBT was just show dressing.

I'd still give him a standing ovation. He'd only leave because we didn't offer him the best deal. And he'd have left on good terms with class.
I agree with this.Frok said:tjack16 said:Frok said:bearkatag15 said:Hearing that the Yankees are willing to pay him that amount or above. As @jonmorosi reported, the expectation for Correa is that he’ll get something like a Lindor deal or better. https://t.co/oaE3FpYoiR

I can handle him signing with other teams, just not the Yankees or the Dodgers. It's like joining the Dark Side or Voldemort, you are now the enemy.

How so? Two notorious big spenders spending big doesn't mean the other teams are okay with it
And the trades begin!

I'd be very upset if he went to New York or LA. But if our owners don't offer him the best deal then I can't fault him for going to whoever offers.
It's different than Cole because Cole did his whole "I'm a free agent I don't have to talk to you" while wearing his Boras hat after game 7 2019.
