Who steps up as leader with Correa gone? Altuve leads by example, but he's not going to fire up a clubhouse. Tucker and Alvarez don't seem to have the personality. Yuli is too old. So we're stuck with ****ing Bregman and his smug attitude that doesn't produce?

I'm cool with that, but you really need a guy playing everyday to be the life of the team.

Nah...6 games of the WS ain't lose him any bargaining power.

He's about to be the 1st ever $400mm player.

Correa wouldn't be considered a top 10 player across the league…I'm not sure why people think the money he is going to make is that crazy.

I don't know. With the luxury tax threshold rumored to be lowered to $180 MM that kind of contract would really put you in money jail fast. And the teams with that kind of cash to afford that amount of money are mostly at the tye top end of the threshold already.

Add in all the FA SSs out there and it's going to be a hard market. Someone will get a good player for a lot less than they would have paid last year.

Everything is crazy expensive nowadays thank to Branden.

But seriously it's more of what some idiotic team is gonna pay him and not much what he's worth.

19.1 innings from our starters in 6 starts.

I've decided to blame the loss of the World Series on lance once again being made of glass. I'd call him the heel, but that's the most sturdy part of the body so it doesn't suit him well at all. Maybe though he can wear his h town vs everyone shirt all off-season only to crap out when we need him most.
Get used to it. Lance will have arm troubles every year with his arm action. He generates incredible velocity, spin and movement but he is going to completely wreck himself by age 31 (he just turned 28).

His deal will be about up. He'll give us some ace years in between.

Damn, just dawned on me that the Braves are the third different visiting team to hoist a trophy at MMP. Has that ever been the case with any other franchise?

Hopefully its us getting a good deal on a good SS. If Correa walks for big money, our biggest issue is replacing his glove & leadership more than his bat.

I know it's tough to just rely on a completely unproven rookie but I think we have something in Pena & Leon. Maybe not in 22 but soon.

Yeah, I think that's what goes into my thinking about if he truly goes wherever the money is just thrown at him, it's going to be a stupid franchise and winning will be at an end for him.

He just isn't what people seem to talk about him like he is…he was a #1 draft pick who has been good; but he hasn't been great and up until this year, hasn't been incredibly durable.

This.

He's had some GREAT moments. He's been a star. But he left a lot on the table. He never quite gave us an MVP type year thst his body, frame, and talent should have produced. I know that sounds selfish from a fan perspective. But he was supposed to be THE ONE and had literally all of the tools.

Cap going down and SS talent in free agency might just enable the Astros to re-sign Correa.

One of them hits and the Astros are wise with the cap space freed up with Verlander and Greinke, the Astros aren't going away

As a native Houstonian and sports fan in this city for 40ish years, let me just say this past 5 year stretch has been phenomenal. I envy the tweens/teens who have grown up accustomed to this.

Thanks Astros. Let's ****ing do it again next year.

He was #2 in ERA in the AL. He was one of the few starters that pitched well in the postseason. Gtfo here with this hate.

Stros have a lot of talent under contract/control and cap flexibility to improve roster this off-season. Pitching staff obvious area to target. Got a good collection of 3rd and 4th starters, need to make a run at a 1 or 2.

A career set of numbers for starts, ERA (by a wide margin), IP (by a wide margin), K's (by a wide margin) and a fluke injury in a playoff game. Yeah. A total wreck.

Honestly, I have given Dusty a lot of ****, but he is not the reason for this loss.

I'm really ok with extending him. The players like him. His gut sometimes leads to mistakes, but he really learned about his guys in the regular season to put them in the best positions in the postseason.

plus three other fortuitous events.

-- Ohtani had a monster year...and the Angels know they will have to pay him $40 MM per year in the near future. That should take LAAA off the table for Correa.

-- Judge had a bounce back season, such that NYY may be planning a mega-contract for him. Which could make NYY look elsewhere for help at SS.

-- Semien had a tremendous season and he is the lower cost or smaller commitment at SS for the big spenders

Espada is going to walk if we don't offer him the job

Let's not forget in a short season if they didn't extend the playoffs dusty took a World Series caliber team and nearly missed the playoffs.

Threw a fit about straw and refused to play lineups to the point of just clearly being stubborn

No strom around to reign in some of his ridiculous pitching decisions.

He did well for most the playoffs but he still manages rosters like it's 1997. There a ton of managers that could get this loaded roster to the WS

Crane is still going to play the PC Card on this and it's going to backfire

You have a heavy analytical front office and GM, a roster built on analytics, scouting based off that yet a head coach who runs his club like he is still with the reds in the NL. Espada meets all the criteria you want and how you have assembled your roster…use him as such

I think I've had a enough time to sit down and collect my thoughts in as mature a way as possible and my conclusion from this World Series is:

I'm still ****ing pissed the Astros didn't get live BP games 3/4 and it's the reason we lost I don't care what anybody (chandler) says you can't convince me don't ****ing try. And **** rob manfred. Braves org too. Joe buck for good measure too.
