I'm still amazed at the turnaround Maton has had this postseason.

Dude is cold blooded nowadays.
I heard on the radio this morning that he was tipping his pitches in Cleveland and we analyzed and fixed it. First time I had heard that.

Sounds like Stromy helped him with the grip on his breaking ball heading into the playoffs. He's got great movement on his pitches, just seemed to throw that one meatball every once in awhile that resulted in 2 or 3 runs.

He was actually better in Cleveland than in Houston. Strommy changed up his slider. Whatever it was, its working.

Can the Chron can this little dick mf'er.

Does the dumbass truly not understand playing in a brand new stadium and understanding the batter's eye, depth perception, etc.? Does he really think fans are stupid enough to just think they aren't swinging in the cage and instead just sitting there twiddling thumbs? Cage time is different than BP.

Now, is that the only reason for the Astros' struggles? No. But I think it contributed.

If we win this, I can't wait for his eeyore tweet. Maybe he was already told he is fired...
He looks and sounds like a little liberal biden-voter puke. "Narrative"....sounds like he's still in his little woke snowflake talking mode.

Can't help but think that an Odirizzi/Urquidy starting combo would be better for Game 6 then Garcia on short rest. Then you have Garcia on normal rest for game 7.

I'll trust their decision but I thought Urquidy would still go game 6.

Quote:

Greinke's line drive off a sinker from Braves right-handed reliever Jesse Chavez was actually the hardest-hit ball by an Astro in Game 5, with an exit velocity of 105.9 miles per hour according to Statcast.

Greinke the DH?

Maldy with the anti-Dorn last night on that bases loaded walk. Loved to see it.

And kudos to the broadcast crew for actually providing a sliver of professional analysis during that sequence. Can we have more of that instead of the fanboy / jilted lover schtick?

you also forgot to mention that during BP infielders and outfields getting fielding work in. That plays a huge role esp when a team like the Stros have very limited experience in un familiar ballparks.

Rome thinks he's a cutting edge journalist. Nothing more than a high school newspaper dweeb.

I am betting $10 that he was using something sticky in Cleveland. He came over just before the crackdown. And like most guys using it struggled afterwards. It seems he's figured it out. Or more likely everyone has found a way to get some help and nobody in the postseason wants to look very closely.

I was thinking something similar. But we have to win tomorrow. And it's going to have to come from a combination of Garcia, Odo, Urquidy, Javier, & maybe even ZG. Between those 5 we need about 8 innings over the 2 games out of them. It doesn't matter what order we go in at this point. Whoever Dusty/Strom think can it tomorrow then whoever is left for Wednesday.

Dusty said Garcia is likely tomorrow. Since Urquidy only threw 14 pitches yesterday, he'll likely get game 7. Unless, of course, he gets in the game tomorrow.

Kyle Tucker WS Stats

.333 AVG (tied in 3rd) *
.429 OBP (1st) *
.444 SLG (tied in 6th) *
.873 OPS (4th) *
4 Runs (2nd)
6 Hits (tied in 3rd) *
0 RBI (dafaq?)
0 HR (this **** is gunna change!)
2 SB (1st) *

*Leads or Co-Leads Team

I 100% believe the winner of the MVP will be decided in the play over the next 2 games. But it wouldn't take much to put TED over the top if we found a way.

I meant I thought he'd go game 6 even after throwing last night. It was his bullpen day I think. Either way I'll trust their decision

2 questions

1. When will Yordong make an appearance? Completely shocked at the level of struggle he has had.
2. I dont follow the logic of starting a rookie on short rest a game early when you have a more experienced playoff starter in urquidy on full rest?

Bonus, who thought we would be 5 games in and only altuve has hit HR for the astros? Have to imagine that changes in houston.

Yordan needs to change is approach at the plate. Stop swinging at sliders and breaking crap. Sit dead red on fastball until two strikes. He will see better hitter's counts and also get a few more walks in the process,

His last at bat was pitiful - swung at three straight unhittable balls out of the zone.

I will admit this team surprised me last night. I wrote them off after the grand slam. They battled back. I like to attribute it to having batting practice before the game.

It still floors me that games 3 and 4 they weren't allowed BP. I'm not sure if that was a Braves organization call or MLB but someone should be fired for making that decision. How can you not allow a new team to the park some time to see how balls come off the bat and fly in the air. I'm sure if the Astros had done that to the Braves, people would be screaming shenanigans nonstop.

I am still nervous about game 6 but have a little more hope since we are back in friendly territory.

I see what you are doing. He'd absolutely deserve to be in the convo if he shoves in game 7.

Wins are one of the most useless stats around. If we decide an MVP based on it, then we need to revaluate how we give out MVPs.

ZG was masterful in game 4. No win. Didn't even qualify for one if we would have.

I didn't watch the game until the 7/8 inning last night. I checked the score on MLB app and followed in here while watching the Cowboys game.

I will follow the same routine tomorrow, minus the Cowboys game.

If I recall correctly he tried that approach in an earlier AB and had two sliders dropped in for strikes right off for an 0-2 count. I think that's what had him swinging in his last AB. Braves pitching has been nails against him this series. Almost perfect.

Yes, that pitch seemed to result in a lot of strikes swinging. Must look irresistible coming out of the hand.
