Deadspin article ( I know its deadspin but this one is pretty good) with a fun little thought experiment. Dusty playing 4D chess or maybe just luck? We'll never know.

I hope we DH Yordan for the last two games and play Diaz in RF. That is our strongest lineup and allows Yordan time to get extra prep in the dugout during the defensive half of innings watching the Ipad.

I'd rather have Siri or Chas in CF, Tucker in RF

I'm so glad Maldy got on the board last night, he needed that game. His walk against Minter, standing on top of the plate, is the strategy and psychological warfare I love about baseball.

My son was super excited to hear about Maldonados success last night. Maldy is his favorite player on account of him throwing him a few baseballs during pre-game warm ups.

I wouldn't. Tucker can more than handle CF and Diaz is a much better hitter than those guys combined.

Law of averages about to kick in. Altuve, Correa, Bergman and Alverez about to have great games in 6&7.

I can't get enough of maldys bases loaded AB vs minter. He wants to bury the cutter in on righties so he just stood in the plate and dared him to go inside and hit him.

Freaking fantastic
That was one of the most elite plate appearances I've ever seen. Minter was completely out of sorts

And then as another stroke of genius, the guy shows bunt with 3 balls too, while basically standing on the plate! Legend!

No kidding. Got a guy who likes to throw sliders in on righties. Tell your guy that can't hit well to crowd the plate and leave bat on his shoulder. Brilliant strategy.

Urquidy winning 3 games in WS is going to push him over the top.
50-1 MVP odds at this moment

Definitely worth a flyer...Even though the wins stat is dumb

But if he throws 5 shutout in game 7...very possible

Yordan will go back to DH, Brantley back to left, and Tucker back to right. Insert Siri or Chas in center for the best defensive OF possible. Diaz doesn't provide enough boost at the plate or in the field over Siri/Chas to warrant being in the line up, imo.

So the question of the day is Siri or McCormick in CF. I wonder of Dusty goes with Siri for the sheer ability to wreck havoc on the bases if he gets on. d'Arnaud has shown he is fully capable of turning a SB attempt into two bases.

personally, with the way Chas has looked vs sliders, I don't really want him in there. Not that Siri has necessarily been the face of success...but I think the speed factor puts him over the top. The only caveat, for me, is if you want to hold him back for a late inning pinch-run scenario.

I think you have to go with Siri just based on the positive energy he gives this team. We are going to need it these next 2 games.

I'd lean towards Siri. Mainly because McCormick has looked lost at the plate. 1 for his last 14 with 8 Ks. Siri may not be much better, but his ability to take the extra base or steal pushes it over the edge for me.

Maldy's fake bunt on the last pitch was the master class of the amazing strategy. Because he's already pushed up so far on the plate he's taken out the insider corner. Now he waves the bat around a little as the pitcher is coming through his motion, and it clearly distracted him. The sheer idea that a guy struggling like Maldy for almost 180 games this season was able to dictate that at-bat was absolutely unreal.

And there is no doubt that the mind game continued to the next at-bat. That guy was now thinking he had to get ahead in the count against Marwin or Marwin would do the exact same thing and refuse to chase. He's a veteran with great WS experience. So he threw one right down the middle to try and get ahead and all Marwin had to do was put the wood on it and 2 runs came in.

That was an extreme case of experience vs. World Series novices. I wish we would see more of it, but maybe you just don't have that many opportunities in the game. Regardless Maldonado has shown what an incredible mind he is. That guy will be a manger as soon as he retires if he wants it. And watching the **** defense we've seen from the 3 catchers we've faced in the playoffs really reinforces how great he is behind the plate. Start Siri and watch him steal 6 bases on Tuesday!

Agree and we need to be aggressive every time he and Tucker get on

Siri only matters on the bases if he can get on. That's why I think you save him for a good PR opportunity.

except just putting the ball in play puts pressure on the defense, too. Altuve's speed rushed Mr private school into an error. Siri can do the exact same thing

But he is a threat to beat out anything on the ground. We all saw Swanson give the Roger Dorn special last night. The Braves are going to be pressing on the road trying to clinch. Plus any fastball mistake, Siri can hit 500 feet.

I loudly informed everyone at the Halloween party that Maldy need to fake bunt on that pitch to draw the walk.

This was right after I said he needs to be standing on the batters box line, then they show him standing on the line!

Let's just say everyone there thinks I'm some sort of baseball genius....

Honestly not comfortable with either Siri or Chas but it's who we got..Chas looks horrible at the plate..not even coming close to the ball and Siri's had one good plate appearance..after that he looked like Chas swinging…He's also wanting to hotdog it so bad in the field it makes me nervous every ball that's hit to him…between the two I think you go Siri just on potential alone…

With Siri, you are just waiting for something spectacular to happen. Either spectacularly good, spectaculary entertaining, or spectaculary bad.....you just never know what you're going to get.

That being said, I'd go with Siri in CF tonight....I love the energy he brings.
