Still not sure why Dusty pulled Greinke so early. Could have given you at least another inning or two.
Agree that was weird

Yep. **** Manfred. If we can play, we can take BPagproducer said:
It's really ****ty that the Astros haven't had a chance to take batting practice in Atlanta. That's absolute garbage.

I think Dusty lost his marbles this game and panicked. He just can't help himself with gut instinct pitching moves?
I think he knew Graveman wouldn't pitch and tried to get to the 8th for Pressly and the top of the order.
Javier messed that plan up.
Well, this is why I said to leave Greinke for another inning.
Pulling him early caused us to go to someone like Javier rather than leaving him as an option for long relief tomorrow.
Now Pressly is pitching 30 when we play again tomorrow...this is insanity. Probably the first game Dusty has truly screwed up big time.

In fact he's done a good job all playoffs IMO.
Yep, Minter and Matzek are the only impressive ones so far.Buck Compton said:Typically yes, I'd agree with you. Sometimes you tip your cap (like that catch on Altuve's near HR to left).Mathguy64 said:Boiling Denim said:
This should go in the pantheon of Houston sports chokejobs
There's 4-5 AL teams that would have crushed this Braves pitching staff held together by Scotch tape
I'm not sure what is worse. The post or the 13 people starring it. The Braves staff is pitching way above their pay grade right now. If they pitched like this for the season they would have won 105.
Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the other team and right now their pitching staff is lights out.
But they're not pitching lights out. We had them in multiple jams and they didn't pitch out of them, we bailed them out with trash swings on balls in the middle of the zone. We don't have a consistent approach to their pitchers or even to hitting in general. Our best hitters have choked. It hasn't been shut-down stuff. They've been extremely hittable

They say good pitching beats good hitting. But I think in this case, bad hitting loses to average pitching.
