There's 4-5 AL teams that would have crushed this Braves pitching staff held together by Scotch tape
that wouldn't matterAggiEE said:
Oh what a ****ty break there...did it hit the ground first?

Huh, weird. I always thought it was a dead ball...redline248 said:that wouldn't matterAggiEE said:

So if the ball bounces and then hits the batter it still counts as hit by pitch?

I think Dusty lost his marbles this game and panicked. He just can't help himself with gut instinct pitching moves?
it's dead bc it hit the batter. Otherwise there would never be runners advance on balls on the dirt.AggiEE said:Huh, weird. I always thought it was a dead ball...redline248 said:that wouldn't matterAggiEE said:

I think he knew Graveman wouldn't pitch and tried to get to the 8th for Pressly and the top of the order.
Javier messed that plan up.
As someone who has capped on Dusty's moves all season in this thread... I can't complain about any of the moves he has made tonight.Boiling Denim said:

In fact he's done a good job all playoffs IMO.
Typically yes, I'd agree with you. Sometimes you tip your cap (like that catch on Altuve's near HR to left).Mathguy64 said:Boiling Denim said:

I'm not sure what is worse. The post or the 13 people starring it. The Braves staff is pitching way above their pay grade right now. If they pitched like this for the season they would have won 105.
Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the other team and right now their pitching staff is lights out.

But they're not pitching lights out. We had them in multiple hand and they didn't pitch out of them, we bailed them out with trash swings on balls in the middle of the zone. We don't have a consistent approach to their pitchers or even to hitting in general. Our best hitters have choked. It hasn't been shut-down stuff. They've been extremely hittable
