Well one things for sure. Yordan is gonna have to learn to play 1st in offseason. Especially if we lose Correa and have to move Yuli to 3rd and let Bregs play SS. At least for year or two.

Hell if he could play 1st now I'd put Altuve in center. Bregs at 2nd and Yuli at 3rd. Too much chemistry to **** up in WS though.

Not like they haven't considered moving Jose to outfield before.
Yuli ain't going back to 3rd. He'll be 38 and hasn't played there in a couple of years. He'd be moving to 1st at this point even if he had been playing 3b all along.

Well of course he's not. We were talking about one to two games versus sitting either Brantley/Alvarez in Atl.

If our pitching looks shaky and giving up runs we can't allow our 7-9 spots be automatic outs on road. No one is talking about moving someone to 3rd for a full season at 37 years old.
your 1st post on the topic sounded like you were talking about the future, not a few games in this series.

edit: I see where you changed directions, now. Sorry for getting confused.

I think we all know there is zero chance Dusty puts Brantley on the bench. Game 3 will be Luis or Urquidy? Maybe if I'm setting the rotation I pick the one who induces more ground balls to start game 3. Limit the opportunity for misplaying anything in the OF with the Yordan/Tucker/Brantley lineup.

Edit: plus, even with Brantley maybe not crushing, I think we all feel better with the professional hitter in there.
Luis has to pitch at home game 2 and game 5.
Looks like Urquidy gets slightly more fly balls than grounders, so you might want a bit better defensive outfield when he pitches in Atlanta
I get that but Garcia is so much worse on the road.

After his last start...we should be wanting LuAce to pitch as often as possible

He was next level last game

When you see it

Umpire accuracy ranks this season out of 99 total:

Tom Hallion - 87/99
Ted Barrett - 83/99
Ron Kulpa - 91/99
Alfonso Marquez - 57/99
Dan Bellino - 37/99
Mike Muchlinski - 49/99
Chris Conroy - 21/99

For the World Series, that is ridiculously awful
LOL, Kulpa

No worries sir, and wasn't changing direction. We were talking about options for the two games in Atl and options.

Based on the above no to an outfield of Yordan, Tuck and Brantley.

So, we're gonna have to sit either the hottest hitter in badeball(Yordan) or the guy with the 4th highest AVG(Brantley-.311) in the league this year.

And neither one of those options should be an option in Atlanta.

are what made me say you changed direction. 1st one is definitely about the future.

Anyway, we'll see what Dusty rolls out this weekend.

Uh, yeah. Planning for the future while talking about the possibility in ATL. You're not in the zoo right now just trying to get likes right? Why the **** would I talk about the future without it pertaining also the possibility right now as an emergency versus keeping Yordan or Brantley out of the lineup on the road?

Sorry, I'll like your funny comment too and pretend it's the zoo were everyone is slow.

Why isnt there some minimum performance standard for umpires to be selected for the world series? This is like bottom of the barrel crew good grief

right? is there anyone worse in the league than Chris Conroy? How is he still allowed to work scoring a 2 outta 10?

I think you roll out the exact same rotation you just did

Framber - G1
Garcia - G2
Urquidy - G3
Greinke - G4

Have Odorizzi and Javier ready to go in a moments notice and have them mentally prepared to eat innings if needed

Conroy was the 21st ranked ump this year based on zone accuracy. He is considered the best on this crew based on that stat.

This is a good article with quite a few links to it. Kulpa should have absolutely been fired on the spot for his bull**** that game.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/boston.cbslocal.com/2019/04/04/mlb-has-to-discipline-umpire-ron-kulpa-incident-astros-aj-hinch/%3famp

I think it's less to do with the Astros and more just his little dick complex as a complete trash human being. More along the lines of hall monitor Cartman.

thank you, I read that statistic completely wrong, like every ump received a score out of /99, not they were ranked x/99. im not familiar with any umpires by name except angel hernandez and one other guy who i recognize when others talk about him.

Surely that list is a joke. Tom Hallion. The tool who butchered the game the first time in the playoffs. Mr "I don't see a problem running in the field". And no Joe West. I'm a little shocked by that. I would have thought they would have let him go out on a WS.

That thread and game is a pure gem. It's a combination of *****ing about Kulpa being an unprofessional codwallop and everyone hating on a fat out of shape Tyler White.

I just have to say it took me hours today to get caught up scanning though the game thread reading atleast 1/2 the comments. And then the thread went into looney bin this afternoon. Brantley in center, Yuli at third, Altuve in the OF, Bregman at 2B…discussions of infield next year?!?

Going into the 2017 World Series I had zero expectations of us to win given we had never done it. Was just hoping we would make it a longer series at least.
Going into the 2019 series I was way too overconfident. Was expecting a potential Astros in 4/5, maybe 6 at worst

This time around I'm confident but also just enjoying the ride. I predicted us to make the World Series before the season started. Just gotta remind myself to not get too high or low each night.

Gut feeling is Astros in 6

Odorizzi was supposed to be G4 starter in ALCS. My guess is he's in spot to start instead of Grienke
