The 30 for 30, Once Upon a Time in Queens about the 86 Mets was well done and produced by Jimmy Kimmel. Shows how crazy baseball was back then and how hard those dudes partied. Some great footage of the Dome. The whole scuff ball Scott crap was annoying though.helloimustbegoing said:He was great in the regular season, but you've got to remember the Mets had an all-time great lineup. Two HOFers in Carter and Hernandez and the best young power hitter of the day along with some salty pain-in-the-ass vets like Backman, Dykstra, Mookie, and Ray Knight.Nino Brown said:helloimustbegoing said:
When Hatcher hit that home run I was convinced the first Houston championship was undeniable. God, I still hate the '86 Mets so much. I remember the first time I had a video game that had the '86 Mets and '86 Astros available. I threw at Dykstra, Hernandez, Carter, and Strawberry in the first inning to get out the latent trauma.
If we would have had a closer we would have. Dave Smith had 9.00 ERA that series and blown save in both 3 &6.
2.56 career ERA and dude ****ed us twice in series.
Plus I think Hatcher was playing way in on a ball in the 9th and it went over his head for a triple.

Ruf went to the same high school as Jake Meyers, although Ruf is 10 years older.
I haven't been able to watch it yet. I'm not sure I can take it, despite that series ending 35 years ago.Teddy Perkins said:The 30 for 30, Once Upon a Time in Queens about the 86 Mets was well done and produced by Jimmy Kimmel. This is Darin Ruf's 13th pro season.

He had to go to Korea 4 years ago to revive his career.
His first postseason hit was a 452-foot game-tying HR in a winner-take-all thriller.
What a story.

Something got into him this year. 5+ ERA in the 2 seasons prior. This year he's a borderline aceCFTXAG10 said:

I don't watch the NL much since we left, has there been any actual, attributable reason for Bellinger dropping off the face of the planet the last 2 years? Other than his contract, why in the world does he keep playing?

We broke Jansen in 17. He's held together with tape and bailing wire. He periodically has to get taped back together.
