Post-Arby's bubble gut is Jose Vizaino's on-base percentage. Probably what keeps you from wanting him in your lineup every day.
Even on an off day I don't want to derail the thread with Nickelback analysis, so this is my final comment on this very marginally worthy topic...Nino Brown said:Harry Dunne said:I'm a little late on this reply, but:texasaggie2015 said:
Joe Buck is like Nickelback or Arby's. None of them are bad. People only hate them because the Internet tells them to.
- No one reasonable hates Arby's. It's top of it's class or close to it.
- At their peak only hipsters hated Nickelback. They sold 50M albums and if you were of a certain age in the early 00s, you definitely turned "How You Remind Me" up and hammered out that intro drum fill while wearing bootcut jeans without boots and a pooka shell necklace. You may even have had frosted tips. Yeah they were ubiquitous and started cranking out similar-sounding songs and everyone got tired of them, but like Coldplay, Kings of Leon etc. they had their day in the sun and you liked it. My new suburban gym is packed full of olds and they very considerately play the 90s and 00s station for us (and therefore a lot of NB). It's been long enough since their prime that I hadn't consciously listened to Nickelback in over a decade. Despite their subpar lyrics and imagining the lead singer's frosted chia hair in my head, I have to admit that I found myself singing along in my head and liking it.
- All that aside, I do agree that Joe Buck is a lot like Nickelback
I also got the Barney song stuck in my head once for a few months. Doesn't mean it's good. And Coldplay and KOL are actually all gifted musicians, big damn difference.
Sure hope so but the Red Sox are the best hitting team against breaking balls. If Framber is on then we should be ok but if he's not it could be a short outing.Farmer1906 said:

Framber bout to go 7 strong.

SIAP, but apparently the Giants were the original buzzer-users. This is all a joke. It's like pretending NFL players don't ALL use steroids & HGH and being outraged when someone gets popped. Even the "good guys" cheat. JJ Watt is roided out to the gills and Shohei is probably a cyborg.
Get over it.
But are they the best at hitting Framber's breaking balls? His curve is one of the best pitches in baseball. As long as he's in the zone enough, they aren't going to do much with it. It'll come down to the 2 seamer. His bread and butter is getting ground balls. Sox are one of the teams who hit the fewest GBs. That and walks will tell the story for him IMO.Teddy Perkins said:Sure hope so but the Red Sox are the best hitting team against breaking balls. Heard Lance McCullers had an MRI and word is that he should be fine in the long run. No official word on the next few weeks however.

A guy who knows him well and has recorded an in-studio podcast with him before directly stated that Lance texted him and said he's out for the postseason. The wording of Heyman's tweet meshes very well with that.

Somebody is grasping at straws in this analogy, that's for sure https://t.co/Ht9QzeGYJg

3. Mike Scott took a no hitter 8.2 innings before giving up a hit. I was too little to remember it.
Found a link to the last inning of the game. I'll have to ask my dad where we were sitting to see if we were on any of the several crowd scans they did: Atlanta Braves vs Houston Astros (6-12-1988) "Mike Scott And His No-No Is A No-Go" - YouTube
