That is a fair point. Dusty has been pull the trigger not just in late game situations. If its the 6th inning and we have runners on the corners with 1 out. I 100% make the move if the match-up dictates it.

Agree that Maldy will likely get the start today. Just wonder how deeply Dusty and the organization are considering more full time PT for Castro.
I would imagine they will go with what they did a few times in the last month: start Maldonado and pinch hit for him (Diaz/Meyers/Marwin/Castro) later in the game with runners on; then Castro gets the catching duty the rest of the game.

I would agree but not with Lance. He needs his dude behind the plate and it doesn't matter if he's batting .025 on the year.

We need ace Lance today and the best chance you get ace Lance is Maldy back there catching him. This is a situation that is a no questions asked no discussions to be had. Maldy catches today.

For the playoffs moving forward I would like to see Castro get more full time PT but I doubt it happens. They went 162 games giving him very spare PT and I don't see why that would change now.

Siri over Marwin
Only 1 lefty reliever (Raley)
No Odo

I left all the moves.
3 catchers mean we're morelikely to make a move and PH for Maldonado if we need to. Stubs is fast enough to PR and can play LF if needed.
Siri is a weapon late in games to run. That is about it.
White Sox crush lefties and Taylor hasn't been good lately. Much less important this series.
I guess there were 2 long-relief roles in the BP. ZG and Javier got them. Sorry, Odo.

I would have left Maton off and gone with Odo, and I think that will hurt. Chicago knows both of them, but Odo is good through 3 innings, Maton is bad through 1.

After watching the WC games are getting the taste of playoff baseball again I feel very uneasy about our BP.

The best statistical hitter in the postseason, the player of the month, the guy with a 1.130 OPS in Sept/Oct, 1.013 OPS since May 9th is batting 7th. I am not surprised. I predicted it earlier today. It's still somewhat mindboggling though. Could you imagine LAA batting Ohtani 7th? What about TOR putting Vlad Jr 7th? Would Washington put Soto 7th? Phillies put Harper 7th? I know we have a stacked lineup. I know we have some vets with tons of postseason success. But c'mon man.

When something has been working all season you don't change it up drastically all season you don't go change it when the post season starts.

Some guys do better in certain spots. Could tuck hit higher and not be affected? Probably. But now is not the time to tinker.
