I couldn't care less how brash Siri is, but it could be construed that his HR cross the plate celebration is him glancing up at the Almighty and then doing the making it rain routine in the same direction like the Lord is a stripper.
I'm sure it's something else, but the juxtaposition with CC crossing himself and glancing up as he scores is pretty funny.

Well this could get fun. With a magic number of 6 and playing the A's in the next series there is a good chance of clinching in Oakland. That would be a kick in the junk. I wonder if Rat Fiers will be there?
Correa does not "want" to leave. He prefers to get paid a ton by the Astros. But it doesn't look like they are going to. that may end up being the right decision, even though I hate it right now. Do they buy out last years of Yordan and Tucker to get them here longer? (both FA in 2026).Quote:

Don't get me wrong. There is no one to just plug in play to replace Correa. But the window isn't shut because Correa is gone. Just like the window didn't shut when Springer left. We have 2 strong looking replacements coming up from the minors. We also have money to spend to improve the team in other ways.

3. After Tuckers double he did his knew arm stretch with a grin...but then did some weird shifts and rolls with his shoulder that made me worry. I know they said swinging isnt the issue but that swing makes be call BS He needs to rest it and not be DH'ing.....conspiracy time His new little arm stretch celebration routine, what if all along that has been him trying to stretch out that right shoulder and hiding it as a goofy celebration. Thoughts?

Looking ahead, the Astros are counting on LMJ/Framber/LuACE to carry the rotation for a few years. Tucker/Yordan/Bregman are a solid one-third of a lineup to build around.
Then, you hope Altuve continues at a high clip, that Yuli's resurgence isn't short term, and that the young OFs are for real. Diaz's health, Brantley's age and catcher are all concerns.

Here's my expert opinion. Sign Correa for what it takes. Extend the window a few years and keep the train rolling. At that point you can trade him to a big club for prospects. Probably have to send cash, but how much will depend on the quality of talent you want back.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.
Big contract like that will most certainly have some kind of no trade clause.

I agree agree that Crane isn't shy about spending, but do we "trust" Click? He's had a couple good signings and a couple good trades. Verdict is still out, imo. Looking good, though.

I trust that Click can operate within the SOPs of the organization.
I don't know the ins and outs but I get a sense that a big reason for the success is that's it's not all on one person. It's an overall organizational approach and mindset. I think he can use the approach and info and implement the organizational plan that's kind of laid out for him.

I think Farmer has mentioned it before but I think the only possibility is if the front office gets creative and presents him with a contract with some player opt outs so that if he wants he can still hit FA while young.

Let me add that the same people saying "PAY THE MAN!!!!" right now will also be the 1st ones killing him and the organization if we're in year 3 of a new deal and he is averaging less than 100 games/season. I love Carlos, but honestly, he scares the s*** out of me as a long term, paid man.

I wish we could keep Carlos but I dont think we will offer the deal he wants. Hope I'm wrong and we do it in a smart way that benefits both in the long run
My concern is if we don't get Correa, we need to make other big moves like extending Tucker/Alvarez. Use the money we aren't going to spend on Correa to make a more complete roster (mainly some pitchers who have proven it recently)

That would be best case for us, but Correa is the head of the class. He'll get the deal first. Someone like Story is going to sweat it out and get stuck signing a shorter term deal.
