Maybe on a night where he's gotten through the 5th with 66 pitches his manager could run him out there in the 6th with a guy ready to go at the first walk or hit. Dusty talked about trying to get him to go later into games, there was a chance.

Yemi gave up a run in the 6th anyway.

Also funny y'all call it whining. He's boss can't even have a conversation with him about his decision and then publicly announces his distrust of him to the media. If that was me, hell yeah I'd be pissed. I probably wouldn't have taken it public, but I would have let my boss know.

Jake's been pretty honest with the media the entire season.

Stat recently showed Odorizzi through the lineup multiple times. He was around .220 the first and second time, then it jumped to around .350 the third time.

Hard to fault Dusty on this one. Maybe if the score was lopsided he would have stayed in another inning or so.

Tk also said that we didn't get the bullpen going until the Mariners made a pitching change in the top half of the inning. He may not have struggled in the game as a whole, but definitely struggled in the 5th. Most pitches of any inning, couldn't locate well, couldn't put guys away. Factor the fifth inning, the long break between innings for him, and his history with late innings, I don't blame dusty.

I guarantee you if he would've pitched the 6th and given up a couple hits right off the bat this board would be livid. There's dusty, ****ing asleep at the wheel again. I could manage this team better than dusty. Etc

All that's fine, and I don't necessarily disagree with it. I'm not even arguing that.

Just saying it's pretty ridiculous to tell a dude to shut up and take the public airing of laundry by the guy's manager when the manager didn't even extend the courtesy of talking to him during the remainder of the game or immediately after.

Either way, this isn't going to end well for Odo.

He wasn't going to pitch a starter in the postseason and would have been questionable if he was on the roster at all. Now I'm almost certain he's not and might not pitch the rest of the year.

Going to be interesting to see what the Astros do tomorrow or Thursday with this situation.

Ha. Dusty threw Odo under the bus in his interview and verbalized his complete lack of trust in Odo to the world!

Odo was answering a question from the media about Dusty throwing him under the bus! I don't like Schawb very much and he's piling on. The questions to Odo were all about him, and he was answering those questions. Jake has always been honest and he was just being honest here. He absolutely pivoted to the team in one of his answers.

Again, Odo should have probably not said some of those things publicly, but his manager or pitching coach didn't even talk to him when he came out or after the game about the situation. Then his manager calls him out publicly during his interview.

So many people acting like they wouldn't be pissed and maybe say something if they were in Odo's situation.
