I'd like a documentary done on what the **** happened to Bregman's power. 304 plate appearances with 22 extra-base hits, and only 7 home runs this year. If you add up 2020 and 2021, homeboy has 13 home runs in 484 plate appearances. No es bueno por el contracto de muchos anos.

2019 was a bit flukish and he's regressing back to where he should be.

I did a long post on this before, but basically, Bregman was a short porch hero. His luck has run out. He was never hitting the ball well enough to be a .550-.600 SLG type.



His barrel% is up from 3.9% to 6.7% yet he's still in the bottom third of the league.

Another issue he's having is a big jump up in his groundballs this year.

OPS+: 136, 135, 132, 137. And it could have been 5 in a row with 131. The first 3 aren't shabby. 122, 121, 114

Dusty hinted last night that a platoon between Jake and Chas was coming. It's so dumb.

I could see if it's a position where both guys suck like catcher but not when one guy (Jake) is raking. Plus Jake hits both lefties and righties better than Chas.

Makes no GD sense. About what I expect from Dusty.

That's absolutely what it should be. But now he's tinkering and quite possibly messing up 2 guys timing, rhythm, etc.

Regarding Meyers I think he said something last night like 'Well he's new so I need to see him more and try to find out where he fits best and how to play him'.

MFer...There's 25 games left in the season. Play the hot bat and let's get this thing rolling. The time to figure out who's playing where is gone. Play the lineup of death and give these guys a chance to get hot going into the postseason.

Chas is fine but he's cooled off ALOT since his hot start. And he strikes out way too much IMO

Chas's batting average has gone up but his power has gone down since June. Both guys drive in runs though which is good.

It's almost like we should have made this move sooner, given both guys more ABs, and made a more informed selection.

My gut tells me Jake is the guy long term. That isn't a knock on Chas either. Chas may be a nice cheap option to slide into LF in the future or be the 4th OFer for a long time.

I am fine with Dusty giving both guys looks.

Rotate Brantley with Yordan once a week or so but make him the main DH not Yordan

I agree. I don't hate seeing Chas start once or twice per week. Everyone including myself loves Jake, but Chas doesn't suck. He hit .333 with an .845 OPS in August. You never know what's going to happen with injuries down the line and we don't want him getting rusty.

He was their top prospect that got called up this year. A lot of hype but so far nothing good
