Eff that, it should be difficult to get into the postseason. As a one shot deal in a severely truncated season, OK, but please don't turn MLB into the NBA where all the regular season (and sometimes even the early playoff rounds) is all but meaningless. In other words pennant races are infinitely more fun than extra playoff round(s)/

Damn. What a difference a week makes. I havent seen a game or paid attention to anything baseball related for since the first home game of the season. I have been busy managing a ton of HS soccer matches going through the State Semifinals. I come back and its a full on **** show. Hasnt anyone sacrificed a goat or posted a full frontal Kate for good luck?

First of all, that's not a typo. The Giants' attendance dropped 92% in one day. Nolan Ryan dominated the Giants, allowing one unearned run in 7- innings while striking out 9 to improve to 2-1 on the year. Nolan also provided all the offense the team would need with a two-out, two-run single off Roger Mason in the bottom of the second inning that scored Kevin Bass and Denny Walling. Meanwhile, Phil Garner continued his one-man assault on Rogers Hornsby's batting average record, going 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored - which actually dropped his average from .600 to .571. His OPS was 1.911 and his slugging percentage 1.286. Kevin Bass went 2-for-3 to get his average up to .321 and Dave Smith pitched the last 2 innings for his third save.

Sure we're down 3-4 starters but let's sit one of our everyday players so we can have 3 rookies instead of 2 in the line up when we're on a losing streak.
